Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone

Good morning friends.

Happy Easter everyone. Today we take it back to NYC for the Easter Day Parade.  Nobody does Parades like New York.

The Easter Parade in New York City is a tradition dated back to the mid 1800’s, yes, the mid 1800’s.  Its starts at 10 am and runs until 4 pm.  The March runs north on 5th avenue and starts on 49th street over by the St. Patrick’s Cathedral.   Pretty much best seat in the house other then joining the parade yourself.  From there they head North til around 57th street.  Seeing all the Easter Bonnets and Easter designed floats is quite an attraction.  It’s estimated one million people will attend the parade.

What started out 150 years ago as more of the “well to doer’s” showing their sense of style to all the onlookers has morphed itself into a mix of tradition, religion and bonnet fashion – NYC style.

In its literal sense this Sunday is supposed to be about the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Religious commentators say there is no relation between the traditions of Easter Sunday and a day commemorating Jesus’ resurrection.  It’s two separate topics at this point in time.  So party on Wayne and Party on Garth.

In Jesus name, we pray.  Amen.

The Movie Rewrite for “E.T. the Extra – Terrestrial”

The Movie Rewrite for "E.T."

Did you ever wish The Movie “E.T.” ended differently ?

In the Rewrite, E.T. chooses stay on earth because of his relationship with Elliot and his family. People are a lot more accepting of different species these days and as a result, E.T. is met with nothing but friendliness. After time, people learned so much from E.T and they from him, that all of E.T.’s family and friends were invited to earth to live or visit.

When his friends and family arrived, they created the E.T. community. The community then applied for some Government funding to help get started, but because of the the bad economic times they were declined. It turns out they didn’t need assistance after all because the E.T. community was strong on brainpower.  So they went on to develop a product that became an overnight success.

They created the “E-Pad” to directly compete with Apple’s Ipad. And and boy, did it give the Ipad a run for it’s money. Additionally, they launched the first E-Pad App and called it “E.T. phone home.”  In the first week alone the App was downloaded 4 billion times, the most ever in history. The E.T. community was now thriving.  As an accidental benefit, humans finally understood space a lot better and stopped spending hundreds of billions of dollars to find out if there is sand on Mars, or Good Humor ice cream trucks on Jupiter.

The movie still would have been great.

Sheila and Sammy

Sammy's new friend Sheila

Good morning friends,

Happy morning to you.  This is our new friend Sheila we met while we were waltzing around.  It’s always nice meeting new people.  You can tell Sheila is very good with animals.  The moment she spotted Sammy and I walking, she pulled the car over to come meet him.  This was a real treat for Sammy, he loves to make new friends.

And with that, we wish everyone a wonderful Saturday.
