Tonight we say goodbye to fallen angel named Kiwi

Tonight we say goodbye to a fallen angel named Kiwi

Good evening friends.

With great sadness and pain our friend Amanda Carr had to say goodbye to her Kiwi on Thursday night, April 9th. Amanda is Sammy & Family’s very good friend from Florida.  If you all remember we just said prayers for Kiwi on Wednesday, April 8th when she had two seizures the day before.

I spoke with Amanda just earlier today.  Here’s what she had to say about her fallen angel Kiwi. She rescued her at 3 months old.  She had just turned 12 years old this April. Amanda loved how Kiwi actually smiled just like a person and was a gentle soul.  We can all see that smile right here in this picture.  Kiwi was Amanda’s best friends through thick and thin in her life, a loyal companion right until the end.  Amanda speaks of how she’ll miss walking Kiwi around the duck pond, she will miss watching her sleep on her little pillow, and she’ll even miss the occasional snoring Kiwi used to do.

Vanessa and I have gotten to know Amanda over the years and Vanessa was even lucky enough to meet her in NYC one day while i was at work.  Amanda is an incredible friend to animals.  She has done a lot of volunteer work with all kinds of animals; foxes, birds, turtles dogs, and so on and so on.  She really has made a difference in a of of animals lives.

Sammy & Family wants to thank Amanda Carr for giving Kiwi a blessed and loving life.  Kiwi knew what love and happiness was thanks to Amanda.  Kiwi made the world a better place and will never be forgotten, and now she suffers no more.  All of us here in the ELS community want to thank Amanda for making the world a better place many animals at a time.  Sammy & Family’s only wish is that all animals get the love and care that Amanda gave Kiwi.  What a wonderful world that would be.

Amanda we are all behind you. All of us from around the world have you and Kiwi in our thoughts and prayers.

No lives will go in vain, no pain will go unnoticed.  Amen.  Scott Smith for Sammy & Family.

The Movie Rewrite for “Forrest Gump”

Forrest Gump

Did you ever wish the movie “Forrest Gump” ended differently ?

Hi and Welcome to the Movie Rewrite of Forrest Gump. If the term “ Trials and Tribulations “ ever suited someone, it would be Forrest Gump. What a full life of ups and downs he experienced. Everyone in life goes through things, but Forrest having been challenged physically with his legs as a kid, and having a very hard time learning in school had it even tougher. From the early days when kids picked on him, to being an outcast in college, not being with Jenny (the love of his life ), the Vietnam War and so on and so on. His life was almost too much for anyone to endure.

Let’s ease some of his pain. Forrest was born in 1944 in Greenbow Alabama, and at the age of 24 years old, he came across a book named “CHAЯLY “ in 1968. This book was about a mentally challenged man who underwent a surgical procedure that was increasing intelligence in mice. Forrest immediately went to California to speak to the person who wrote the book. He desperately wanted to know if it was based on a true story. Upon meeting the Author of the book, he was heartbroken to know it was fiction. Nonetheless the author pointed Forrest in the direction of a biotechnology company that specializes in altering Personal Genomics.

He pledged to the company to use him as an experiment, and if it goes badly, Forrest assumes all the risk. After all, Forrest had just spent several years in the Vietnam War, an experiment to enrich is life was not about to turn him away. The company agrees. They gave Forrest the same surgical procedure as the mice, and after a few days in ICU, he returns to Alabama.

Within 90 days of back to reality life, Forrest’s thought processes ramped up considerably. Not only did he know what love is, but he can speak of it and express it. He immediately goes to see Jenny and tells her of this miraculous change. He then explains to her what he has tried to say for a lifetime but has been unable to express. Jenny is dumbfounded and in total shock. She sees the difference in an instant, and realizes the reformed Forrest is the man of her dreams. Her only question now is; will the experiment last or will or wear off ?, Forrest answers the question by quoting his mother; “ Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your gonna get “

She acknowledged his point; love is worth the risk of the unknown. Now that Jenny and Forrest are together, there is no reason for her to fall into a life of drugs and promiscuity during the 1970’s where she was infected with HIV. Being she avoided that demise, Forrest, Jenny and little Forrest were cleared for take-off into a life of happiness and Joy.

The Gump family had such gratitude for their lives they wanted to give back. As we all remember Forrest invested in a Fruit Company called “ Apple Computer “ and became a gazillionaire. With this wealth, the Gumps funded that same bio tech company that gave Forrest a whole new life so they can do the same for countless others. Forrest and Jenny also decided to donate fortunes to ” The Bill and Melinda Gates foundation ” to help fight poverty and disease in Africa and other parts of the world.

Who would’ve ever thought a fictional book can change people’s lives around the world. Lieutenant Dan took his part of the Apple fortune, and invested in a Titanium Start up company for animals. This company specializes in giving quality of life back to handicapped animals. Lieutenant Dan always remembered how Titanium put him back on his feet to walk again.

The End….. The movie still would have been great.

This American Girl, Camille Willemain

Three years ago I made a decision that dramatically changed the course of my life. After being laid off by two different jobs within six months, breaking up with my boyfriend, and feeling more lost and uncertain than I ever had before, I did something totally uncharacteristic. I put everything I owned into storage and took a one way flight to Costa Rica.

This American Girl lives in Costa Rica now and knows it better then anyone. Check out her book; The Ultimate Guide to Costa Rica;”  http://www.thisamericangirl.com/ultimate-guide-costa-rica/

My plan was to return two months later and move to NYC to start graduate school. Instead I sold my car and the rest of my belongings and began an indefinite voyage around the world. Costa Rica showed me that I was happier in the jungle than in concrete and I preferred to be barefoot than in heels. For me, there was no going back.

Recreation with Sammy & Kelly

Recreation with Sammy & Kelly

Good morning friends.

They say its the simple things in life that make a life.  Sammy & Kelly are giving a perfect depiction of that here.  What’s more simple then two dogs having a bone together on a Saturday morning ?

I like to remind myself of things like that.  Not ever day has to be climactic.  There is a lot of joy in enjoying the simple things.

Happy Saturday friends. Have a great one.

Jeffrey boy will lead us out tonight

Jeffrey

Good evening friends.

Friday came right on time as it always does.  It’s great to be here with everyone.  Beautiful day in Puerto Rico today.

So tonight Jeffrey will lead us out.  He is still somewhat nervous around cameras, but away from that he is so happy and such a joy.  We love him to death.  I wish you all can see his smile and personality away from the camera.  Vanessa and I will have to catch him one day in a candid moment.

Anyway, We hope you all had a nice day.  I’m feeling a lot of love here tonight on the platforms. Not sure if its the Prozac, or because its the weekend, or just feeling good in general, but I’ll take it.

Life is good today for Jeffery on April 10th, 2015.  It did’t have to be that way, thank God that it is.

Signing off from Puerto Rico on day 90, Dr. Harp Seal for Sammy & Family.  By the way, how quick did those 90 days go by ?   See you in the morning.

Snoopy the Artist

Snoopy and Sammy

Good morning friends.

This post clearly warrants a quote from Vincent Van Gogh;  “The more I think about it, the more I realize there is nothing more artistic than to love others.

Friends, it is this quote that inspired Snoopy to create the greatest painting ever painted.

Happy Friday.

Sarge will Lead us out Tonight

Sarge will lead us out tonight

Good evening friends.

Tonight Sarge will lead us.  He is a member of Robin and Kent Hanson and family which also includes 4 other dogs.  For those who struggled with math as I did, that is 5 dogs in total.

Sarge is a 5 year old mini-Schnauzer.  He did not have an easy time for couple of years in his life. Not physically abused, but more neglected and then give up with very little regard.  Robin and family new of Sarge and decided to bring him into their home.  Since then it was only uphill for Sarge.

Let’s hear from Robin directly on her little trooper;

“Sarge is very sweet, sensitive and protective. He is such a snuggle bunny. When he sleeps he will get underneath all the covers and snuggle so close to you he feels like a little heater. He also snores very loudly when he sleeps.  He makes the funniest noises too. He snorts and grumbles. I wonder if all schnauzers do that?

He is such a happy boy. He loves it outside where we have an acre fenced in and he can come and go as often as he pleases. He loves to play with our other dogs and his favorite toy is a lion hand puppet. He plays tug-o-war with our bigger dog, Phil and he likes to play chase with “the girls” our mini poms. When he wants to play with my husband or myself he will walk behind us and tug at our pants.

He loves treats and his very favorite are the peanut butter ones. Sarge is always at the door to greet us when we come home and he gives the best Sargie kisses I’ve ever had!  When I look into his beautiful brown eyes I know that I am loved unconditionally and I believe he feels the same.

Great story Robin.  Thank you for sharing Sarge with us tonight.  Saving Sarge might not have saved the world, but it made his world.  That’s all any of us can do.  We can’t change everything, but everyone can change something.  And Robin and family did just that for Sarge.

Signing off from Puerto Rico on day 89, Dr. Harp Seal for Sammy & Family.
