Poppy Tuesday on October 13th, 2015

Good morning friends.

Happy Poppy Tuesday.  A day filled with Hope and Possibilities.  Remember, if the Pops can do it, anyone can.  Let the story of the Pops propel you through your challenges.  The odds were so stacked against him on having a good life, and now his life so grand its hard to believe.  Poppy has become the heart of this family, without him, there is no us.

In the lyrics of Barry Manilow’s song; “I Made it through the Rain”  — The lyrics are ♫♫♫, When friends are hard to find, and life seems so unkind, sometimes you feel afraid. Just aim beyond the clouds, and rise about the crowds and start your own parade.  Cause when I chased my fears away, that when I knew I can finally say, I make it through the rain ♫♫♫.  Powerful lyrics, right ?

OK, lets kick this Poppy Tuesday off with two Positive Notions.

1. I made some mistakes, I will improve on that.  I’m not going to beat the hell out of myself for something that already was.  What’s done is done, I’ll do better next time.

2. Today is another gift.  Good, bad or indifferent “today” is another gift. We know that because many people that were with us yesterday, won’t be with us any longer.  That’s how you confirm to yourself today is a gift.  We get another shot at life today.

See you tonight friends.  Dr. Harp Seal here on day 276 in Puerto Rico.

Goodnight from Jessica Lee Smith on October 11th, 2015

Goodnight from Jessica Lee Smith

Goodnight everyone.

We hope you had a wonderful weekend. The weather is gorgeous out tonight. The streets are lined with the most beautiful colors, thanks to the falling leaves. Everything looks Soo magnificent. It just takes my breath away.

It’s hard to believe we are well into October. This month has great significance in my life. The first of the month represents the day my beautiful Juliette came into this world. Juliette is my 7 year old daughter , and she has brought nothing but sunshine into my life. She is an absolute treasure.

From this year forward, the fourth day of this month will always represent the last time I will touch the hand and see the soft face of my angel, Dennis. Tuesday will be the day that we all come together to honor him and celebrate his life. How do you honor someone as special as Dennis Brown? I guess we’ll all just follow our hearts on that day. I hope we can do you justice Dennis. I only hope that I can express how grateful I am to have had you in my life, and how much I love you.

I guess we are given gifts in our lives in the form of people, and hearts that we will always be changed by. Wether they are entering our world, or passing away, their love changes us forever. They become etched in our souls, and we are never the same. We are touched by these gifts and we should always remain so thankful for them.

We hope tomorrow is a great day for everyone. Have a peaceful night, and sweet dreams to all.

No lives will go in vain. No pain will go unnoticed.
Amen.

With love from,
Jessica Lee Smith,
For Sammy & Family

Two New ways to figure out your Real Age

Good morning friends.

Dr. Harp Seal here.  Thank you for stopping by.  So today we are going to review two new mathematical ways to find out your real age.

The first way is take your current age and subtract the year you kind of figured life out. So in my case, I am 46 years old and I sort of figured life out at 40 years old. So we take 46 – 40 and we get 6.  I am currently six years old.

The Second way is take your current age and subtract the year  you figured out what you really love.  Lets take Vanessa for example. She is 47 years old.  When she was 45 she learned that she loved working out in the gym.  So we take 47 – 45 and we get 2.  Vanessa is really two years old.

So there it is friends.  That is how Dr. Harp Seal calculates people’s real age.

Have a great day.

Jo Ann Smith and the Banking Crisis lead me to Henry

The story of Henry

Good morning friends.

Recently we were asked to share the story of how Henry came in to our lives. I have told you the story of Sammy and my Kentucky friend in 2005, and Vanessa and I told you the story of when we got Patrick.

So today I will tell you the story of how Henry entered the picture.  If you remember in 2008 our country went through a “Financial Pearl Harbor” — Banks were going down for the count left and right.

Additionally,  on April 21, 2008, my mother had open heart surgery. She had an aortic valve replacement. So I moved in with her for about 6 months while she was rehabilitating.  Between her recovery and commuting to North Jersey for work everyday, I started feeling Sammy was a little lonely.  I did Not know what to do.  The stock markets were extremely intense and the country was shell shocked.

When Lehman Brothers went down within 48 hours of their original news, which was a company that had been around for 100 years, I knew it was lights out for the economy for years to come.  The point being is trading was not letting up, and between work and my mother, I was exhausted.

So one night after work, I went into a pet shop and went right up to the guy and said; “I want the most timid and shy dog in the store.  He said; “that’s an interesting request” — I said; “I know, but I have a very confident little Pomeranian at home, and I don’t want anyone stepping on his toes, but he needs a friend”

So the salesman said, I have the perfect dog for you.  And he handed over this baby Havanese who was shaking like a leaf.  I mean shaking like I couldn’t believe. The dog would not even look up to see who was holding him.  I looked at the salesman and I said, “Perfect, I will take him”  — This guy was looking at me like I was the craziest person he has ever seen walking into his store.  So we get to the register, and he said, that will be $3200.  I said to myself, “Did he just say $3200?”  And yes, he did.  Havanese’s are very expensive dogs. Anyway, I paid the tab and brought this little guy home for Sammy.

When I walked in the apartment, I said to my mother, “Say hello to our new roommate”  — I put him down on the Floor and named him “Henry” right on the spot. It was the perfect fit.  Sammy came right up to him, Henry immediately looked down.

Mission accomplished, Sammy had a friend that was not going to try to be the dominant male.  This all gave way to how the “Soldier of Love” was formed.  His original purpose was to keep Sammy happy.  When Sammy was happy, I was happy. So Henry knew to keep Sammy happy. Now of course years later, life without Henry would be unimaginable.  Henry is way more to the Smith Family then just Sammy’s sidekick.

And that is the story of how Henry came on to the scene.   Happy Sunday Funday.  Day 274 here in Puerto Rico.  Dr. Harp Seal for Sammy & Family.

This one’s for you Jeffrey on day 273 in Puerto Rico

Day 273

Happy Saturday night friends.

Feeling very grateful tonight.  Not sure if its the Prozac or the love, or the combination of it all.  But you know what they say; “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”  — So with that, we’ll take the gratitude and not question it.

OK, its Jeffrey time.  As you can see it’s day 273 here in Puerto Rico. You know originally when Vanessa and George, her dad, or Jorge if you want know more Spanish, told me they rescued a dog, I thought that was awesome.  Many of you always dreamed of having large families, I always dreamed of being around a lot of animals.

Its interesting, its hard to escape your destiny.  I lived in NY for 45 years, but my core chemistry always loved animals.  I always felt such a kinship with them. Sometimes you grow up a certain way and hear certain things and you just follow that script.  I thank God for forcing a derailment on my conventional life. By the way, no insult to conventional lives at all, they can be awesome and comforting.  I just needed to break out creatively with an animal focus.

And now here I am in Puerto Rico with my 3 boys and I, Kelly, and this new angel named Jeffery that came to us in total despair. Well now Jeffery changed his zip code. Despair is in his rear view mirror and he is on the highway of  love cruising happily along.

When I connect the dots back to 1985 when our recently deceased family member Dennis, and his moving crew were swimming in our pool that night, up to the point of meeting Jeffrey in the picture here with me, I know that I am inside a structure that has already been mapped out.  Its not my plan, its God’s plan.

At the end of the day, through deaths, divorces, highs and lows, this life is gift. I thank God for taking away my ungrateful and negative vision from me and restoring it to peace.  I said this to a friend of ELS the other day, even if I can’t change many of the things I write and speak about, I’m happy I addressed them. So when i leave this life one day, I’ll know I spoke my mind.

I will close with this, I believe in “Paying it forward,” and I do Not believe in the “Lord of the flies”  — The Earth has enough fruits for all species to live with an abundance of needs, heath and safety.

So friends, the dream is intact for Scott Smith and Dr. Harp Seal. We just want to hand out frozen Snickers for free on the beach talking to complete strangers about light, dumb and breezy stuff. The dumber, the better.

From Jeffrey, the Smith Family, Sammy & Family  and our mentor Dennis who just passed, we want to say;

“No lives will go in vain, no pain will go unnoticed. Amen.  Dr. Harp Seal for Sammy & Family.

Advanced Psychology on the distinction between a smoker and a non smoker

https://soundcloud.com/dr-harp-seal/the-psychology-of-smoking-and-not-smoking

Dr. Harp Seal here.

A little psychology for you. A non smoker is having a cigarette and a real smoker asks for a cigarette.  The non smoker says “you can’t smoke because you do smoke. I can smoke, because I don’t smoke.”

So the real smoker says; “Well then if i quit smoking, can I start smoking again?”

Thanks for reading or listening.

Saturday Mornings

Cartoon Saturdays

Good morning friends.

Its great to be here with everyone on October 10th, 2015.  The Pops and Kelly chilling on Saturday morning waiting for the cartoons to come on.  When the Pops watches TV he gets very in tuned. Each time the cartoon switches to a new scene, you can see him pull his back almost saying to himself, “Hey where did all those characters just go” — Hopefully we catch that on video one day.  Its pretty funny.

OK lets kick this day off with two Positive Notions;

1. There’s a lot of love out here on the platforms this morning, i can feel it. If you want to feel some love, reach out and connect with someone.

2. I don’t walk into walls anymore, I walk around them. If there is no way around them, I turn around and face the wide open spaces.

See you tonight friends. Day 273 here in Puerto Rico.

Love and other Drugs

Love quotes for the weekend

Good evening friends.

Welcome to the weekend.  Its great to be here with everyone.  What a week.  Hey, just cause i play Mr. Mom all week does Not mean i can’t act exhausted like all the working folks.

My poor wife.  We have 5 dogs, and I am really like the 6th dog in the family, just a little smarter than the other 5 dogs I guess.

So tonight’s Post is called; “Love and other drugs” — Well to start with the slogan needs to subtract other drugs and just focus on Love.  So lets write the new mathematical formula; Love minus other drugs = Pure Love.  Let’s put an asterisks ( * )sign here just to caution that Love can be addicting like any other drug, so make sure you are on the positive side of the equation.

OK, lets kick this weekend off with three great love quotes and one funny statement from me;

1. “If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you.”   — Winnie the Pooh —

2. “Love is all you need, all you need is love”  — John Lennon — Today he would 75 years young.

3. “Quite simply, we love Fridays.

Statement from me.  The reason my nose looks bigger here is because Vanessa did Not use the photo application that normally thins my nose out.  So it poses two questions;

1. How insecure can a man be that he chooses to use those applications ?  Or,

2. How confident is a man who admits his insecurities ?

Lets quote the movie “A River Runs Through It” and swap a few words; “Eventually all things merge into one and a “Nose” runs through it”

Signing off from Puerto Rico on day on day 272. Dr. Harp Seal for the Smith family and Sammy & Family.

There is no Place like Home

There is No place like home

Good morning friends.

Henry came by to wish everyone a great day.  He wanted to reminded us all that, “There is no place like home, there is no place like home”  — Pun intended.

OK friends, lets kick this Friday off with two Positive Notions.

1. It’s great to be alive on October 9th, 2015.  Let’s give today a chance to a be a great day, or at least a good day.

2. When you have exhausted all possibilities, remember this – you haven’t ” — Thomas A. Edison —

See you tonight friends.  TGIF.
