Christmas Eve in 2015

Hi friends. If you prefer to read this message, the text is just below the video here…. Enjoy !!

Good evening friends.

Thanks for stopping by. Happy Christmas Eve.  Its funny, as soon as I say Christmas Eve, I can actually smell pine trees.  In the past month we have said the word “Christmas so many times” that the dogs think its a new trigger word like the words “W-A-L-K” or “T-R-E-A-T-S  — I have to spell that out because they are all sitting here and would start barking their heads off.

I remember Christmas Eve as being the most exciting night of the year. I was never able to sleep knowing I had all those presents waiting for me in the morning.  I just wrote about this the other night. The only night that might have topped Christmas Eve was the night before I got my drivers license. When i turned 17  and was able to drive, I thought I was Heaven right then and there.  No more of my mother dropping me at the movie theater in front all my friends and my girlfriend.  Man i hated that.

OK, Day 350 here in Puerto Rico. Day 35 since we rescued Rocky on November 19th.  When I look back on this year its nice to be able to say, I really had a happy year. In the past I had decades of looking back on any given year, and it always much worse at the end of the year then at the beginning.  I guess that’s where the slogan; “The definition of insanity is repeating the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results” comes from.

Today I have a lot to be grateful for.  Between Vanessa, our 6 dogs, who could Not be any happier, my father in law, and my family back home, our ELS family, only by the grace of God could this have happened. God can do for us what we can’t do for ourselves.

Friends I hope you can look back on 2015 as a happy one also. If you can’t, its not indicative of how 2016 will be.  Keep Buddha’s quote in mind; “Each day we are born again, what we do today matters most”

From our family to all of your families around the world, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

Santa’s Reindeer is getting his plane ready

Santa'a Reindeer

Hello friends.

Sammy is getting his plane prepared for his trip to the North Pole tonight. As it turns out, some of Santa Claus’s Reindeer called in sick at the very last minute.  Sammy has filled in as one of Santa’s reindeer several times already.  Even so, anytime Santa reaches out to Sammy on Facebook, he gets very excited. Whenever Santa calls Sammy for help, his answer is always “Yes”

Santa Claus, his Reindeer and Elves are in the business of spreading goodwill.  Sammy & Family likes that business. Christmas is a holiday if spreading goodwill.  That’s what all the gift giving is all about.

Lastly, to all the pundits who say Santa Claus, Reindeer and Elves don’t exist, then how do you explain this reindeer in picture right here ?  Do people honestly think this dog / reindeer is just doing a photo shoot or something ?  That is utterly preposterous.  He is getting ready to go to work.  While we are sleeping tonight, this little reindeer will flying Santa all over the world giving out presents.

To deny this as a reality is like saying “Climate Change” doesn’t exist, lol.  Silly Rabbits.

We will see you tonight friends. We’ll be doing another video / audio story for this evening’s post.  Tune in at 8 pm.

The Night eases in on December 23rd, 2015

Sunday, January 25th, 2015

Good evening friends.

Thank you for stopping by. Sammy & Family loves to be around the ELS family from all over the world. It really is a privilege to be surrounded by so many friends each night.

So, day 349 here in Puerto Rico and Day 34 since we rescued Rocky off the streets.  Or should I say he rescued us. Sammy & Family is crazy about Rocky.  He is a very special dog, not to mention the name Rocky is like the greatest name of all time, thanks to Sly Stallone.

OK, I am going to tell you my wish list for Christmas, whether for this year, or for any other.

1. I wish that Vanessa and I go meet the Harp Seals in Canada on the Ice Sheets.  Its been a life long dream of mine.

2. I wish to organize a big ELS retreat in Puerto Rico for any of our friends that would like to join.  It’s a perfect excuse to take a vacation.

3. I hope to my Sylvester Stallone one day, I really do.

And now, let’s lets close with two Positive notions.

1. Today was another gift from life.  Whether it was a good day or not. We have to remember that many people that were here yesterday, did Not make today.  And that can be anyone of us at anytime.  So everyday we wake up is a gift.

2. We have to eradicate the term “Its not the right time”   — You see when we want to do something, Its never feels like the right time, but its always the right time. Its not like Life is going to hit the pause button for us.  We have make room for what we want into our lives.

Rocky and his Bone

Rocky and his bone.

Good morning friends.

Happy Wednesday. Day 349 here in Puerto Rico. Also day 34 since we rescued Rocky. We hope everyone is well this morning.

Dog tip 101; Never try to take a bone out of a Pit Bull’s mouth. All kidding aside, Rocky here is a gentle soul. He has no idea that he is a strong as a mini horse.

The same is to say, never stand behind a horse. If a horse decides to do a little back kick, you will be seeing stars, lol.

OK friends, we are deep into the holidays here. Like so deep you can feel the anticipation in the air. The only thing in my life that was more exciting than opening presents on Christmas morning, was the night before I was getting my driver’s license for the first time. ‪#‎Yup‬.

See you tonight friends. Scott Smith for Sammy & Family.

Poppy Tuesday on December 22nd, 2015

Poppy Tuesday on December 22nd 2015

Good morning friends.

Happy Poppy Tuesday. A day filled with Hope and Possibilities.  Remember, if the Pops can do it, anyone can. Faith is a very powerful tool.  Its easy to become dismayed when life throws us the tough stuff.

That’s when I return to the basics and remind myself that if the Pops can do it, so can I.  Faith can eradicate any challenges that stand in front you.  Faith belongs to all of us and its ours for the keeping. Nothing and nobody can take that away from you.

OK, lets kick this Poppy Tuesday off with Two Positive notions.

1. You cannot lose if you do Not quit.  Having said that, make sure that what you seek brings you happiness. We don’t need to be right, we want to be happy.

2. We are all busy in our own lives, that’s a given. Everyone has time for a random act of kindness each day. Bringing service into our lives neutralizes the unnecessary storms we bring to our lives.

So with that, we would like to wish you all a fantastic Tuesday.  Day 348 here in Puerto Rico. Scott Smith for Sammy & Family.

Elf and his Dad

Dad and Elf

Good evening friends.

Thanks for stopping by tonight.  Sammy & Family really appreciates it.  The title of this post is; “Elf and his dad.”  — We wanted to stop by and wish everyone a Happy Holiday.  We hope its been a great season for you all.

So the countdown for Christmas is on like “Donkey Kong.”  To all the millennials feel free to Google that name to understand the reference.  What a year this has been. I left NYC on January 11th, 2015 right before a brutal Winter last year.  I guess that’s where the slogan;  “I would rather be lucky than good” comes from.

The Smith family and Sammy & Family are humbled as we know many animals and people are alone through the holidays. For many its just more time alone, needn’t matter what month it is. We pray its starts getting better for them immediately.

I say this to our friends around the world pretty much every season.  Some of you have even taken me up on it.  If you need to reach out, here is my email; smith7024@yahoo.com and we can connect from there.  One of the good things that came out of all the screws up I’ve had is experience. Many a times when people connect with me, I’ve been where they are, and know the way out. Or at least the way to it getting just a little better.  Sometimes just a little bit better leads to a bigger rally and a new lease on life.

So open invitation for anyone and everyone.  Most importantly, we do the best we can with what we have in this life.  No need to take anything personal.  If you have no family, then we are your family.  Everyone gets admitted to our family.

OK, lets close with two positive notions.

1. Remember the Chinese proverb; “If you fall down 7 times, you get up 8 times” — It does not matter what your score is. We suit up and show up.  If we do that, we are all winners.  Case closed.

2. Nobody can change everything, everyone can change something. A guaranteed way to create a miracle is to rescue a pet in need of a loving home.  You will be saving a life, and they will take your life to new heights and a higher sense of purpose.  We call that a;  “Win Win”
