Who rescued who ?

Who Rescued Who ?

Good evening friends.

We have very special visitors tonight. This is Lloyd Lapidus and his 3 year old rescue, Jax. Lloyd is my best friend.  We have known each other for 42 years.  He also gave a great speech at Vanessa’s and my wedding in June of 2013.

Although history has tied the two of us together, more importantly, Lloyd and I grew up with dogs and still love animals til this very day.  Lloyd has been an animal lover since hes 5 years old, so have I. We share that common bond on top of the history we have.

You can see the happiness resonate through this picture of Lloyd and Jax. Lloyd showed me some pictures earlier of Jax before they rescued him.  Its night and day. When they are abandoned, as time moves on, their spirits becomes defeated.  That is why rescuing animals is so crucial. It gives them a second chance. A reigniting of their spirits.  And for that gift we give them, they take our lives to a higher sense of purpose and happiness.  That’s how the expression; “Who Rescued who” came about.

Sammy & Family wants to thank Lloyd Lapidus and family for making the world a better place, one animal at a time.  Lloyd is my brother from another mother, which is a great thing because i have 5 sisters.  So I needed a brother.  Mitchell Nathason is our other brother from another mother too. But because he does Not have a Facebook account, he is beneath Lloyd on the hierarchy with me.

Lloyd thanks for sharing this picture with our friends from all over the world.  Love you buddy. Signing off from Puerto Rico, Scott Smith for Sammy & Family.

Sunday with Pops and Vanessa

Pops and Vanessa

Good morning friends.

Pops and Vanessa came to wish everyone a happy Sunday Funday. We love Sundays.  Its such a newspaper and coffee kind of day.  On Sundays we let imagination in the door and back into our lives. On Sundays we get to be us again, the people we set out to be from the very beginning.

Pops has really developed into quite a young boy. He’s full of happiness and confidence. Creating and developing miracles its a very rewarding practice.  A life of service feels so much more enriching then a life of; “me, me, me.” — We all have personal things we have to do, those are the realities and responsibilities of life.

The good news is there is a lot of time in a day to attend to other animals and people’s needs.  Sometimes it just takes a few minutes to make a major impact in other’s lives. We all have that kind of time.

OK friends, see you tonight. We have a surprise visitor leading us out tonight.  Day 339 here in Puerto Rico. Scott Smith for Sammy & Family.

Day 25 since Rocky rescued us

25 days since we rescued Rocky from the streets

Good morning friends.

This is Rocky when he wants to have some conversation with strangers driving by. He’s very social.  So we are starting a new day count other than just the one of me since I got to Puerto Rico on January 11th, 2015.

The new count is how many days its been since Rocky walked up to Sammy & Family and asked if he could be part of our family on November, 19th, 2015.  So today is day 25 since our first encounter with this special big boy.  This is a perfect example of how life can be “Inches and Minutes”  — The stars were perfectly aligned for Rocky and Sammy & Family on November 19th, 2015.  And since then, our family is more complete than ever.

Its a great feeling knowing we can create miracles in our own lives with animals and people that are in our lives.

OK, lets close with two positive notions.

1. Rest assured my friends, Sammy & Family will find Titika a loving permanent home very soon.  Its not a question of  “If”, its a question of “When”  — And “When” will be real soon.

2. Whoever does rescue Titika will get a personalized song sung to them from my sister Jessica Smith.  She has a great voice, you will love to hear it.

Day 338 here in Puerto Rico, Dr. Harp Seal for Sammy & Family.

Tonight we pay tribute to Pei Pei

A tribute for PeiPei who passed away in November of 2014

Good evening friends.

Tonight we pay tribute to PeiPei who passed away on 11-5-2014. A little over year now. PeiPei belonged to our good friends Sandra. Let’s hear what she has to say about her fallen angel.

“We got PeiPei when he was 5 months old. He seemed to know he belonged with us, as we were bringing him home he was not afraid. He was always very alert & curious or some would say nosy about everything. If he saw a closed door he’d try to get in to see what was in there. He was very intelligent, he knew when I was going somewhere even before I started getting ready. When we’d leave he’d stick his head between the vertical blinds & look at us as if to say “Hey you’re leaving me”. I always felt bad about leaving him. but my work was at home so I didn’t have to often.

He loved to sit up like a human, & that is how he wanted to be carried. He had to sit up on my hip like a child no other way would do for him. He didn’t seem to know he was a dog & didn’t have much to do with other dogs. He was jealous of our other dog, he never played with her or toys either. But was such a joy to us. He would look at us like he knew exactly what we were saying when we were talking even from the first time we met him.

He was a house dog & didn’t like the outside he only went out when he had to & never stayed long. He also didn’t want us outside. He wanted to be with me all the time. I miss that constant companionship even now after 13 months of his being gone.

He lived to be almost 16 yrs old. He slept beside my bed & every morning when I got up would wag his tail in greeting. I would pick him up & carry him to the sofa & pet him for a while before taking him out, then it was breakfast time for him. He loved people food especially fried squash, chicken & sweets. Even tho he ate dog food he always got a few bites of what we were eating. He wanted to eat out of the palm of my hand. He’d beg when we were eating, then yip if we ignored those eyes.

I still find it hard to talk about his passing, he was eating less & loosing weight. We found out he had cancer & kidney failure about 3 days before he passed. We did all we could to make him comfortable & he fought very hard. He passed early one morning right before I got up. We were devastated by his passing. He was born 12-28-1999 & passed 11-5-2014. There are volumes Everyone loved him & wanted to pet him. He knew he was little, our vet said he had little dog syndrome. But we loved every aspect of his personality. He was just perfect. He will forever be missed

Sandra thank you for sharing such wonderful story with us. He is gone but never forgotten. Sammy & Family wants to thank you for making the world a better place. You gave PeiPei a great life for over 15 years. A life filled with love, joy and companionship.

No lives will go in vain, no pain will go unnoticed. Amen. Scott Smith for Sammy & Family.

FAO Schwarz and Fireman Sammy

FAO Schwarz and Fireman Sammy

Good morning friends.

Being Christmas is right around the corner we figured you to take you back to FAO Schwarz in NYC. You would be surprised the mischief that a 10 Pound Pomeranian can cause inside of a Toy Store.

Hey its like they say; “Boys will be boys”

Happy Thursday friends. Scott Smith for Sammy & Family.
