Lady is Gone but Never Forgotten

Lady is gone but never forgotten

Good evening friends.

Tonight this story comes to us from our great friend Nancy Neumeir & family from Missouri.  Tonight Nancy tells the Story of their fallen angel “Lady” from about a year ago.  Lady had a very interesting journey of family circumstances and love.  I was very moved by this story.  Lets hear what Nancy has to say below;

I’m not quite sure where to start with this so I am going to start from the beginning. Lady started out in our family with our Uncle Pat. Unfortunately when my Uncle moved, he was not able to take her with, so instead of giving her to someone that she did not know, my Mom and Step-Dad decided to add her to their part of the family.

Lady was with my Mom and Step-Dad for quite a few years. She was always very sweet and lovable and always got along with any dogs as well as any kids. She was such a joy to have. My Step-Dad was diagnosed with Cancer due to Agent Orange and had gotten to the point where he could no longer walk and they had to move. Where they moved to, they could not have animals. So at this point, my Sister decided to take care of her.

Over the years, Lady’s arthritis was getting really bad and living in Wisconsin with the cold weather was really doing a number on her. My Sister no longer wanted to take care of her so I told my Mom she was more than welcome to bring her down with her at Christmas last year and she was more than welcome to become part of our family. Lady fit right in from the moment she walked in the door. All 4 kids thought she was a joy and she had the sparkle in her eye again. It is warmer here in Missouri so she did not have so many issues with her arthritis and she was able to run around the yard. She loved going for car rides along with our other dog, Ben who you could NOT leave home without.

Unfortunately we did not get a very long time with her. Lady was almost 16 years old and in the few months with did have with her, I could not have asked for a better dog to have added to our family. We were devastated when we had to make the decision to have her put to sleep. The arthritis was getting to the point where she could no longer get up to go outside on her own. We were having to carry her just so she could go out and go to the bathroom. I could also see in her eyes that she wanted to be by us when we were in different areas of the house, but was not able to do so any longer.

I am so grateful that God gave her to all of us and we had her with our family here for the last part of her life. As you can see, she really loved being where everyone else was and at times was afraid she would get in trouble for coming in the bedroom. Of course our dogs have always owned the house and we just pay to mortgage. Even though it has been a year since she left us, we still love her and miss her every single day.”

Sammy & Family would like to thank Nancy and family for letting Lady leave this life with that sparkle in her soul again.  Sometimes the only loving move left to make is to show mercy.  Lady felt love again in her last few months and left this life with grace.

Thank you Nancy for sharing Lady’s story with us. Rest in peace Lady.  You made the world a better place.

No lives will go in vain, no pain will go unnoticed.  Amen.  Scott Smith for Sammy & Family.

Pops goes the Tuesday on December 1st

Poppy Tuesday on December 1st, 2015

Good morning friends.

Happy Poppy Tuesday. A day filled with hope and possibilities. Remember, if the Pops can do it, anyone can. Being “Hope” is such an important word, lets do an acronym for it.

“Hopeful Opportunities Presented Everyday”  – I winged that one but I really like it.  So lets kick December off with some Positive Momentum;

1. We do the best we can with what we have. That’s all anyone can do. Personalizing things is counterproductive and doesn’t serve us well.

2. Maybe this year I will buy Christmas presents online starting early next week and not go into one store, lol. .

Day 327 in Puerto Rico, see you tonight friends. Scott Smith for Sammy & Family.
