Vanessa and Henry came by to say hello. We hope everyone is enjoying this weekend.
Sunday is our favorite day of the week. On Sunday’s we let imagination in the door and back into our lives. On Sunday’s, we get to us again. The people we set out to be from the very beginning.
See you tomorrow friends. Scott Smith for Sammy & Family.
Thank you for stopping by. We hope everyone had a nice Poppy Rocky Tuesday. Life was good today on May 10th, 2016.
In continuing the spirit of Poppy Rocky Tuesday’s, we will stay with the theme of Hope and Possibilities. I really have come to love Tuesdays. Hope is an incredible resource in this life. Let’s take a closer look at why Hope is so important.
When someone feels down and out and in total despair, they feel hopeless. They don’t see a way out. And yet another person, with the same circumstances, feels hopeful. So its no surprise whose life is on the upswing and whose is not.
How do you get hope if you feel hopeless ? That is the million dollar question. The answer can be many things. But to name a few; a great night sleep can do miracles for your perspective. Reaching out to family or a friends can lift someone’s spirits. Just a few key words or phrases from the right person can changes a person’s thinking in an instant.
Taking it slow until you feel grounded again. Nobody needs to make life altering decisions when we feel so down. When we realize that, it takes the pressure off of trying to rebound to quickly. Taking a walk helps. They say when we move muscles, we can change our thoughts. Also is important is take deep breaths.
Small tweaks, big gains. All of these tools are actionable, doable and effective.
We will see you in the morning. Day 477 in Puerto Rico and day 167 since we rescued Rocky. Scott Smith for Sammy & Family.
We have Gemma Weston, the Flyboard world champion on The Good News Channel today. I guess its not surprising as new technologies keep sprouting up, so do extreme sports. In Gemma’s case, more specifically, hydro-flight extreme water sports. Flyboarding has been around for a couple of years and has recently made its way to mainstream media. The Flyboard is a PWC (Personal Water Craft) accessory that once installed, allows a person to elevate up to 45 feet in the air using water jet propulsion technology.
In the last year we did a story on Andrew Cotton who surfed the biggest wave ever in Portugal of 2014, recently we did a story on Roberta Mancino who has taken base jumping and wing-suit flying to a whole new level, and today we have the privilege of featuring New Zealander, Gemma watson, one of the best flyboarders in the world.

Just 3 months ago, I really knew nothing of flyboarding. Then I started noticing videos all over social media of this young woman doing miraculous stunts 40 feet above water like Aquaman or something, or Aquawoman I should say. Well that Aquawoman, was Gemma Weston. Friends, this girl’s got skills. Serious skills.
This is Gigi, one of Gemma’s dogs back home in New Zealand.
When one of Gemma’s videos first grazed my eye, I literally said to myself: “No way I just saw that” — Then I went back to watch her full 2 minute video and realized I did just see that. Basically, Flyboaring is a mixture of , skateboarding, surfing, skiing and flying in the air above water.

Happy Poppy Rocky Tuesday. A day filled with Hope and Possibilities. Remember, if the Pops and Rocky can make it, anyone can.
There’s a lot of zeal in the air, I can feel it. Today has a good shot of being a great day. Let’s give today a chance.
OK, lets kick this Tuesday off with two actionable positive notions.
1. If we did our best, that’s always good enough. From there the cards will fall where they fall. There is nothing to take personal.
2. Today is another gift. Many people that were here with us yesterday, are no longer with us. For them and us, let’s make the most of today.
Have a wonderful Tuesday friends. Day 479 here in Puerto Rico, and day 167 since we rescued Rocky. Serious stats, right ? See you tonight friends. Scott Smith for Sammy & Family.
Kelly wanted to come wish everyone a wonderful Monday. Kelly is a very brave spirit. Anytime we have taken on a new dog, Kelly socializes them into the pack. Shes a real leader and knows how to keep the peace.
OK, lets kick this Monday off with actionable positive notions.
1. If we want to feel freedom, let’s not be concerned what other people think of us. Our existence is not solidified by other people acknowledging it. Let’s bring people into our lives that enhance it, not that try to define it.
2. Nobody can change everything, but everyone can change something. A random act of kindness can change people’s and animal’s lives on a dime. Hope goes a long way.
We will see you tonight friends. Scott Smith for Sammy & Family.
Thank you for stopping by. Day 477 here in Puerto Rico. I want to give a big shout out to Vanessa for the strength and grace she exhibited throughout this entire week. Just seven days ago is when everything changed on a dime. This will be the last post Sammy & Family does about this loss for a while. We know life moves on and so must we.
In the midst of this shock, Vanessa managed to handle a months work of responsibilities inside of 5 days. Sammy & Family is very proud of her. She took the pain, accepted what happened and rose to the occasion with more guts than I’ve ever exhibited in my life. Like they say, “The apple does Not fall far from the tree” — Jorge was strong and so is Vanessa. A perfect example of how we never really lose someone.
Friends this is not a sad post. Its just me bragging about my best friend. So I am going to let it lie there.
Lets bring the night in with two positive notions.
1. Life is a series of experiences and then you grow.
2. “Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it” — A River Runs Through it —
We will see you in the morning. Scott Smith for Sammy & Family.
