The 2nd Amendment needs a revision

Gun control in America nowPicture from;  www.TheGailyGrind.com

Good morning friends.

The late Great Martin Luther king once said; “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” — I’m going to take that cue from him this morning.

I have read a lot the comments from Constitutionalists out here and their thoughts about the precious Second Amendment.

The second Amendment was adopted in December 1791, yes 1791. Let me do the math, that is 225 years ago. And yet, people refer to it as if the Founding Fathers ever imagined assault rifles, automatic weapons, AR-15’s and etc.

Furthermore, to the Constitutional scholars out here, the founding fathers are not God. They were people just like us that screwed up all the time.

Sammy & Family has personally had enough of the “God, Country and Guns” mentality that plagues this country and beyond.

The world is more one than ever before. The world is more ethnic then ever before, get over it. We’re Not going back to the slave era as much as some of these gun obsessed people would like to, its not happening.

Our Country’s values are inverted. We must put Lives before Profits. Not the other way around. Enough is Enough.

If anyone thinks there should Not be a ban on Military type guns, I would like you to unfriend me, or tell me who you are so I can unfriend you.

If anyone believes the NRA is a responsible and respectable organization, I would like you to unfriend me or give me the opportunity to unfriend you.

If anyone believes that hunting animals is an American Pastime like watching a football game, I would like you to unfriend me or give me the opportunity to unfriend you. Hunting is not a sport. A sport requires two teams that want to play. I am 100 percent confident animals do Not want to participate in the sport of hunting. Therefore its murder, not a sport.

We don’t like guns in this account. Its a sick perversion already. I’m not interested in your academics, I just think you’re an ignorant and arrogant ass.

The Orlando shooter was going to commit an act of terror anyway, we all understand that. But to have such easy access to that kind of weaponry is not just dumb and blind, its a complete disregard for lives, animals and people.

Lastly, Peter Bergen, terrorism analyst for CNN, one of the best analysts in the world, says Most extremist attacks, Non Muslim and Muslim attacks in the USA, are people from the USA. Yes, American Citizens.

Let me leave you with this, If we think we’re going to bomb and kill our way out of this abroad, then we’re feeding right into the hands of war mongers.

We have a serious Gun problem in the United States. Correcting it will Not stop all acts of terrorism, but it will save a lot of lives. That is just basic math. Less guns equals less deaths.

Here’s my quote; “Guns and people, kill animals and people”

If you have a passion for guns, I do Not like you. Its too late and too many mass shooting incidents ago to sugarcoat all of this horror with bull_hit academia.

Sincerely,  Scott Smith for Sammy & Family.

Two smiles for the price of free

Two Smiles for Free

Good morning friends.

Sammy and his friend Valeria stopped by to wish everyone a happy Monday. Two smiles for the price of nothing. I guess its true what they say; “The best things in life are free”

Its great to be alive on June 13th, 2016. Nobody can change everything, but everyone can change something.

Have a great day everyone. Scott Smith for Sammy & Family.

Thoughts & Prayers for the Victims of Orlando, Florida

Thoughts & Prayers for Orlando

Good evening friends.

Sammy & Family wants to extend our Thoughts & Prayers to the victims and their families of Orlando, Florida.

50 people were killed and 53 more injured senselessly. The shooter did pledge allegiance to ISIS and his parents acknowledged his disdain for Gay people. The White House is calling the attack an act of terror and hate. This was the biggest mass shooting in The United States’ history.

Life is inches and minutes. These killing sprees are so random and cunning. People are wondering what can be done about all this. Even the experts are wondering how to be preemptive against random and endless possibilities regarding attacks.

When terrorists started going after soft targets, that was a game changer for them.

Here’s the thing, terrorists want us to live in fear, they want us to stay home, they want our economy to tank.  Here is the bad news for them, if we accept that when its our time, its our time, then we fear nothing. As long as this country is doing everything we can and we are all staying more alert, then we must continue to live our lives.

A great man once said, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself”  — #FDR —

This 29 year old terrorist was nothing more than a little _itch with two guns. Where was his big trap before then ?

With that said, a little gun control would be good. This coward bought two guns legally two or three weeks ago or so. Why should any man, sane or not, fanatical or not, be able to shoot 103 bullets to kill 50 people and injure 53 others ?? Think of that, one man shot 103 people. Its outrageous.

Gun control would not have stopped this, but there would be less deaths.  Something to think about.

No lives will go in vain, no pain will go unnoticed. Scott Smith for Sammy & Family.

My Little Big Guy Rocky

My Little Big Guy, Rocky

Good morning friends.

I was having a Sunday morning talk with my boy Rocky here. He’s my little big guy. He is so big, but a little boy at heart.

This is the park that I found him on November 15th, 2015 living as a stray dog. That was 207 days ago.

Rocky is my best friend. We have very strong bond together. I am so grateful that on a random Thursday, 207 days ago, Rocky just walked up to me, Sammy, Henry and Patrick, and joined the pack.

He just assumed membership to the family. And then as a family, we never looked back.

I love him to death. I think about him all the time when we are out of the house.

I want to thank my little big guy Rocky for rescuing us.

Have a great day friends. Scott Smith for Sammy & Family.

The Memorial Service for Muhammad Ali in Louisville Kentucky on June 10th, 2016

The Highlights of the Memorial Service for Muhammad Ali

Good morning friends.

The Memorial Service for Muhammad Ali took place yesterday in his hometown of Louisville Kentucky. There were over 100 hundred thousand people in the streets on Grand Avenue to watch the funeral cars pass on there way to the Ali Arena where the service took place.

The Arena itself had thousand and thousands of people. The guest list was filled with people from all walks of life, religions, and nationalities. The Ali Arena was where the champ first started boxing at 12 years old. His last fight was fought in that same arena in 1961. And yesterday, on June 10th, 2016, the memorial service for the passing of the great one was held there too.

His wife and most of his kids spoke. Ali was the father of 9 children from 4 marriages over the course of his life. Other speakers included, former President Bill Clinton, Will Smith, Bryan Gumball, Rabbi Michael Lerner, the editor of Tikkun Magazine and so on and so on.  Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis attended. The king of Jordan was there, the former Afghan President, Hamid Karzai was there and many many others.

Quick highlights from the speakers.  One speaker, I forgot which one called Ali a “Citizen of the World”, he was loved in every country around the world. Muhammad was possibly the most well known person on Earth. Another speaker said, Muhammad was so much a part of everyone’s lives that everyone can now say, “Ali Is Me”, I really loved that comment.

And then Billy Crystal and Bill Clinton Brought the house down with their remarks.

Billy Crystal on Ali,

“He was  Tremendous bolt of lightning created by mother nature out of thin air, a fantastic combination of power and beauty. At the moment of impact, it lights up everything so you can see everything clearly. Ali struck us in the middle of America’s darkest night and the heart of its most threatening storm, his power toppled the mightiest of foes and intense light shined on America and we were able to see clearly in justice, equality, poverty , pride, self realization, courage, laughter, love, joy and religious freedom for all. Muhammad Ali forced us to take a look at ourselves. He was a silent messenger of peace. He taught us life is best when you build bridges between people, not walls. Ali ran with the Gods, walked with the crippled and smiled at the foolishness of it all.

Some of Bill Clinton’s words;

“He perfected gifts that we all have, every singe one of us have gifts of mind and heart. Its just that Ali found away to release them large and small.

Have a great day friends. Scott Smith for Sammy & Family.

The Good News and Bad News for Trump

The Good and Bad news for Trump

Good morning friends.

Scott Smith here. Native New Yorker now living in Puerto Rico. The entire media is missing the major story here with respect to the current Presidential Election. I am going to break this down with basic Psychology. This is a quick read, so please stay with me.

Donald Trump does Not want to be the President. That is what everyone is missing. That reality is getting convoluted with all his rhetoric, but is also the basis for it. He got into this election for his ego and now started a fire he cannot put out. Since the rhetoric about the Judge from Indiana and the dozens of outrageous comments after, its clear hes throwing the election against himself. Its so clear that I am shocked no journalists have caught this. The Donald knows the regarding Trump U  CAN make an objective decision based on the facts of the case. He deliberately made those remarks right after Paul Ryan endorsed him. The Donald is doing all of this by design.

Donald Trump loves his life. He does Not want to be traveling all over the world meeting with people and issues he could care less about. He loves gallivanting around NYC. He’s not going to give that up for the toughest job in the world, not to mention, most of the time, a thankless job.

You see for Trump its a Win Win. He still gets to gloat for the rest of his life that he broke every Republican Primary record in History. So from his perspective, even if he loses, he still won. And he wants to lose and is going to make sure he does. The fact that his own party is turning on him now is meaningless. He won without them, and now he’ll lose without them. They are inconsequential.

I am 100 percent confident Trump will Never be the Potus. 100 percent confident about that. #NEVER

Poppy Tuesday on June 7th, 2016

Poppy Rocky Tuesday on June 7th, 2016

Good morning friends.

Mr. Pops here. Happy Poppy Rocky Tuesday. A day filled with Hope and Possibilities. Remember, if the Pops and Rocky can make it, anyone can.

The decks were completely stacked against them and yet we’re all here together in Puerto Rico.

OK, let’s kick this Tuesday off with two Positive notions.

1. It’s OK to be upset, it’s not OK to quit.  The caveat here is to make sure its what you really want. If it’s not what we really want, then its OK to fold.

2. Its great to be alive on June 7th, 2016. We have to remember that many people that were here with us yesterday, are no longer us. We owe it to them and ourselves to be grateful we are alive.

Day 514 here in Puerto Rico and day 202 since we rescued Rocky, Scott Smith for Sammy & Family.

Tribute for Muhammad Ali

Tribute for Muhammad Ali

Good morning friends.

With great sadness the world says goodbye to Muhammad Ali. The champ passed away Friday night in a hospital in Phoenix, Arizona.

Ali was a 3 time Heavyweight boxing champion, he was a champion of the people and a civil rights activist.

Since the 1960’s he was one of the most well known and loved people on the planet. Muhammad Ali was a larger than life giant.

I remember watching him fight Joe Frazier in 1979. I was jumping up and down on my parents bed like a wild horse. I was so memorized by him and everything I heard about him.

We can all thank Muhammad Ali for inspiring the Rocky movie series starting in 1976. Sylvester Stallone had seen an Ali fight in March of 1975, where an underdog almost took down the Champ. That fight is what gave way to the original “Rocky” movie.

As we know Muhammad Ali battled with Parkinson’s since 1984. Even still, when people met him over the past few decades, they were in awe.

When Ali was around, he owned the room. Everybody had their eyes on him.

Rest in Peace Muhammad Ali. You were one of the greatest people that ever walked the face of the Earth. Amen.
