Goodnight everyone. We hope your Monday was a good one. It’s hard to get back into your routine after a holiday weekend. Keep your head up because each day brings more opportunities to be a positive influence on this world, and the people around you.
I want to take this chance to discuss an issue which I feel is a very important one. Dogs are the most devoted and loving companions that you can have. Dogs offer an unconditional love that is rare to be found anywhere else. They are a gift to be treasured. They are meant to be treated as family. They are NOT meant to live outdoors with no interaction with people. They are not born just to guard your home.
When dogs are treated as “accessories” and left to live in a dog house, dog run or just tied to a tree, I consider this abuse. Without love, these dogs are being starved of the life that they truly deserve. I just find this totally appalling. I’ve seen and know of dogs, that are being kept outside or in garages in the heat and in the freezing cold. This is just reprehensible. A dog is not a piece of furniture or a decoration for a back yard. This type of animal owner, is just cruel and heartless and they shouldn’t be allowed to have animals at all. Animals are family. Anyone that sees this any other way should NOT own a dog.
I know a “woman”, and I use that term lightly, who bought two pure bred Rottweilers. These poor dogs are never in the house. They are left in the garage or they are left outdoors. Because of the neglect of these two dogs, one of the dogs has now become highly aggressive and has already maimed one of the woman’s neighbors.
The neighbor, who has met the dogs before, walked over to the house, and entered through the opened garage. Of course, the two dogs were in there, because that’s the only place that they are allowed, other than the back yard. The neighbor, knowing the dogs, approached one of the dogs to pet it and the dog attacked the neighbor, severely injuring the neighbors mouth.
The dog owner took zero responsibly for the attack, and turned against her neighbor, saying that it was the neighbors fault for being on her property. She did not help that neighbor in any way, at all, which is not surprising, knowing this “woman”.
This same woman has young children. By neglecting these dogs and not loving and interacting with them, the way that they deserved, she has indirectly produced aggression in these dogs, who could have had a chance at a normal life, if not for being bought by her. Now she has the product of her neglect, living around her children. If people ask her if she has dogs, she professes proudly “Yes, two Rottweilers”. She never thinks for a second about the dogs themselves, only how they are a reflection of herself.
I see this a lot. I see this in all areas. It needs to stop. If you see a dog. Being left in the cold or the heat and never see the dog going indoors, please report it. This is neglect and it is abuse as well. These neglected dogs need our voices. They are defenseless and cannot speak up for themselves. It is our job to do what we can to help them.
We have a special request for a little six year old boy named Xan. Xan is suffering from a very rare neurodegenerative disease, that is taking over his body and now has begun to take over his mind. We are asking for Prayers tonight, for our Mother Joann , who fell yesterday on the street, and broke her ankle in three places. She is in an incredible amount of pain and was taken by ambulance to a hospital on Long Island. Tomorrow, doctors will perform surgery on her ankle. Dear God watch over our Mother. Carry her through the surgery in your loving arms and please take away her pain. We love you Mom.
No lives will go in vain. No pain will go unnoticed. Amen.
