Goodnight everybody. Welcome to the weekend. The days of summer are swiftly coming to an end. We hope it was a memorable one for you and your loved ones. Soon it will be back-to-school for the little ones and the weather will be changing. Enjoy the warm weather while you can.
Prayers are going out for our dear friend, Laurel and her precious “Miss Luci.” Miss Luci is a 16 year old peek a poo. She has been suffering from kidney disease for a while now. Her kidneys have improved a bit, but now she has developed pancreatitis. Miss Luci also has a very painful and infected tooth, but doctors cannot perform surgery to remove the tooth until her pancreatitis clears up . This poor baby is having a hard time eating.
Laurel is understandably worried about her little girl. Miss Luci is deeply loved by Laurel and they need our prayers. Dear God please help Miss Luci. Please take away this little angels’ pain. Heal her and restore her to herself again. She brings so much joy to her family. Please God, comfort Laurel in her worry. Keep Miss Luci and Laurel close to your heart. God bless them.
More prayers are being sent out tonight for our friend Suzanne Leigh and her beloved Cocker Spaniel, Jazzy. Jazzy crossed over the rainbow bridge into heaven, only a couple weeks ago. We know that Jazzy is forever young and happy on the other side and will one day be reunited with Suzanne again. We send blessings and love to Jazzy.
We pray for Suzanne, as we know how incredibly painful this time is for her. Suzanne, Jazzy will never be far from you. He knows how much you love and miss him and he loves you just as much, now that he’s crossed over. Jazzy is in your heart forever and no one can ever take that away from you. Please take comfort in knowing, that even death cannot separate us from those that we love.
We send you love, Suzanne. We pray for your strength.
Friends, there are so many things that we can do to help these beautiful creatures. We need to be a voice for them because they don’t have a voice of their own. We need to fight for them because they cannot fight for themselves. Everyday, the genocide on animals continues. Let us each do our part to stop it in any way that we can.
Small adjustments to our personal lifestyle, can make the world of difference. Alternative choices in our diet and wardrobe can mean the difference between life and death for millions and millions of these gentle angels.
Be wary of “palm oil.” Check the labels on the products that you use. Many animals are dying and suffering horrific deaths due to the production of palm oil. Certain types of palm trees produce large red fruit which are rich with oil. This palm oil was once considered to be a solution for global warming because it can be used to produce products of all kinds including foods, cosmetics and biodiesel which is a fuel that can be used instead of gasoline.
But it is not the solution that it was once thought to be due to what is taking place in some of the places where palm oil is produced. The worst repercussions of this can be seen in the tropical rainforests of Malaysia and Indonesia.
The ecosystems that are most harmed by the expansion of oil palm plantations are the rainforests and peatlands. Peat is needed to soak up water and prevent floods and it also stores large amounts of carbon. When peatlands are drained and more forest cleared by agriculturists using fire, this causes large-scale fires and mass destruction of the rainforests.
Greenhouse gas emissions also result when rainforest is cleared for oil palm plantations. Worse, oil palm plantations support very low levels of biodiversity, meaning most of the plants and animals once found in the rainforest must either move or perish. Oil palm plantations are not good for wildlife and endangered species like the orangutan, the Sumatran rhino, the pygmy elephant of Borneo, and the Sumatran tiger are all threatened by the development for oil palm.”
It’s easy to be uninformed about the products we use because of marketing. But please read carefully the labels of everything that you use or eat. Millions of animals are counting on us. Together we can make a differences. Too many animals are in danger and perishing every day.
No lives will go in vain. No pain will go unnoticed. Amen.
Love from,
Jessica Lee Smith,
