Prayers for Michael Jackson July 30, 2013

999074_659915930705273_1383555634_nHey friends. It’s nice to be surrounded by animal lovers, it truly is. By the way, in saying that, I’m not implying that I don’t like people who don’t love animals. However, full disclosure, I definitely like them less right off the bat.

I wanted to give a huge shout out to the late and great, Michael Jackson. May he rest in peace forever. Sammy and family pray for him and his family always. It’s easy to forget now that he is gone and his last few years had a lot of negative press. But as we all know, the press likes to sell scandals over triumph, We are not judging that. Good luck to the writers, they will have to live with pushing those kind of stories.

Tonight, we want to bring him back in a respectful fashion and remind people what he did and gave to the entire world. Besides being the greatest entertainer that ever lived, who literally electrified stadiums all over the globe and everyone in it, he was even better at being a humanitarian. Michael Jackson was trying to heal the world way before it was “The thing to do.” He was fighting for poverty and people who where starving from here to everywhere. Singing songs with words like “ If you can’t feed your baby, then don’t have a baby.” or songs like “ The Earth Song,” “You are not alone,” and countless others. This man was way more than an entertainer. He had a mission. Sammy & Family will always remember that and he lives forever in our core. He was the sequel to John Lennon.

More importantly, he was an friend and a guardian angel to all animals.  Michael Jackson was a visionary for all living creatures. Sammy & Family thanks this bigger then life figure for knowing how delicate and beautiful the animals on this earth are.

To the late, great, Mr. Jackson, we salute you. We hope you and Mr. Lennon can trade stories of your experiences all over the world. What a book or movie that would make.

No lives will go in vain. No pain will go unnoticed.

Amen. Love Sammy & Family.

Prayers for Gary, Debbie and Benny July 29, 2013

21467_659395770757289_650099481_nHello friends. We hope everybody had a nice Monday. Before we say our prayers and thoughts for our animal friends, I would like to bring something to the forefront tonight. We have spoken about pigs before as well as other animals in horrible situations. But for tonight I want to focus on pigs, and then we can extrapolate that for all animals. People say to me all the time, I can’t give up my bacon. Most people love the way it tastes and don’t consider what they go through because after all, they are just pigs. This particular animal in my opinion has it the worst of all. Firstly the word “ pig “ is considered to be a very derogatory word. People use it to insult people. So it makes it even harder to bring awareness to what they go through because nobody has any respect for this so called “disgusting animal.” This is a very sad reality. I’m begging people out there to realize that none of us are important enough to just look the other way with such brutality going on. Pigs are a sweet animal. They are smart and they get along with other pets. You can be sure that they know what is happening to them. Their lives are horrible being stuck in crates, only to one day be chosen to be murdered. We are not in the business of telling people what to do. Nobody has made more mistakes in this life then me. But my heart has always been in the right place and now that my mind is as well, this is a no brainer. Please try other things. For example we can eat, Soy Dogs, Portabella Mushroom burgers and steaks.
This picture Posted is from the Facebook page of Posh Pigs. We Ddon’t know much about the page but we wanted to show just how sweet pigs are.

Let’s say some prayers for Gary and Debbie who had to put their 15 year old pomeranian, “Benny,” down today. Benny had been struggling for months to walk and live a normal life, suffering on a daily basis. Sometimes the only loving move left to make is the hardest one. May Benny rest in peace forever. To Gary and Debbie, remember, you gave Benny a great life and he left this life being loved. Thank you for the life you gave him.

Now let’s pray for our friend Sharon. Her little fur baby “Millie” has cancer. She may undergo radiation for this tumor. We pray for a swift recovery and return to normalcy. We hope Millie has more life in her and that with the right care, she will live longer. Sharon please keep us updated. Both of you are in our thoughts and prayers.

As always, we pray for all animals in harms way to no fault of their own. Life can be really hard for these angels. People should know better.

Please remember, small tweaks in our lives and diets can make a substantial difference in animal’s lives, including life or death. Please don’t turn a blinds eye; small tweaks will give them huge returns.

No lives will go in Vain. No pain will go unnoticed.

Amen. Love Sammy & Family

Prayers for Stuart and his family July 28, 2013

46993_658895237474009_1647174564_nGoodnight everyone. We hope you have enjoyed your weekend and that you made some unforgettable memories with those that you love the most. We have a new week ahead of us. Let us make the most of it and take it on with a positive outlook. New opportunities await us.

We start out our prayers tonight for the animals. So many of these precious angels are suffering and struggling every day to survive in unthinkable conditions. As animal lovers, we understand the priceless value of the love of our pets. We know that they are a gift bestowed upon us by God himself. But too many of them go unloved. Too many are abandoned and left without hope. Too many of them are being tortured and murdered without reason.

These are sacred beings. These are living angels and they are not meant to be treated this way. This must end. We pray for these angels tonight and every night. We pray for a day when all animals are protected, safe and loved. This is what they truly deserve.

Together we can help them. Let us do our best to educate others on the brutal truth of what is being inflicted upon these beautiful creatures. Let us do our best to make changes in our own lifestyles, that can save countless lives. Small adjustments in our wardrobe and diet will mean the difference between life and death for millions of animals. Dear God, help us on our mission to protect your angels.

Prayers are going out tonight for our childhood friend Stuart and his family. We have asked for prayers for Stuart’s father before because of his history of cardiac issues. Stuart’s father passed away this week. Stuart and his family are heartbroken and they need our prayers. God bless Stuart’s father who leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love. We ask God to comfort Stuart and his family. This is an indescribably painful time. If you’ve ever lost someone that you love so much, than you understand what his family is going through at this time.

There are just no words to truly comfort those who have been thrown into the depths of grief. At these moments in our life, so many of us are left feeling as if we should’ve said more or should’ve done more in the time that we had with our loved ones. Many people hold regret in their hearts for not having said “goodbye” or “I love you.” It’s important to remember that we are all human and sometimes it is harder for people to say those words. This in no way means that our loved ones don’t know what is in our hearts.

Our love for each other is not defined by the moments right before our loved ones cross over to the other side. Our love for each other is the patchwork of a lifetime pieced together as a whole. If you have love in your heart, the departed ones know this. On the other side, in heaven, there is total understanding and wisdom. Those who have left this life understand and see our hearts more clearly even then when they lived amongst us.

The truth remains that even death cannot separate us, but for a moment in time, in the scope of eternity. We are forever bound to those who live in our hearts and part of them lives within us until we are reunited in a world that knows no death.

As I have mentioned before, upon the death of my own father, I turned my back on God. I stopped believing and I lost my faith. I worried about my father in a world without God. I worried about what was happening to him…was he afraid? Was he alone in the dark? What was happening to him? This way of thinking kept me awake at night for many years. I was afraid of living. I was afraid of dying. I was afraid of everything and I felt unprotected and alone.

That all changed in my early twenties. Just as I was at my lowest, my father came to me and God made his presence known to me. He showed me a glimpse of heaven and I felt the weight of the world lifted from my shoulders. Most people call me crazy when I speak of this experience. I think at one time I would’ve thought the same thing if I didn’t experience what I did that night for myself.

What I saw was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in my life. What I saw and felt was a warming light, like no other light I have ever seen on this earth. Everything in heaven was alive; the trees, the grass, the waterfalls, the rainbows. It was something so magnificent that it is virtually impossible to describe. There was no fear at all. There was only love.

Ever since that night, my eyes have been opened in a way that they never were before. Now I can feel my father around me all of the time. I have felt his hand in mine. I have felt him hold me and put his hand on my shoulder. I know he is with me and I know now that we have never been apart.

It is in no way just me. We can all feel our angels around us. We just need to open our minds and hearts to the simple fact that they are with us. This does not ease the pain when we lose someone but it is so important to understand that there is no real death. When we understand that we don’t have an end, it is easier to see what God wants of us.

What is your legacy? How will you be remembered? Let it be a legacy of love because that is a legacy that will live on, effecting generations and generations to come. Be kind to all that lives because that is what you will be remembered for. We cannot offer before God our degrees or our assets. We go to God with only our hearts and souls to show. Always remember that and keep that in mind in your everyday actions.

No lives will go in vain. No pain will go unnoticed. Amen.

Prayers for Linda Robinson, Lucy, Richard and Clark July 26, 2013

526805_657571217606411_1346050583_nGood evening everyone. Our weekend has arrived. This is our chance to unwind and get some much needed time with family and friends. Cherish these moments. Always be grateful for the blessings in your life.

There are so many living beings that don’t have even the bare necessities that so many of us take for granted. Let us never forget those beings in our prayers. There are so many broken souls living among us. There are so many who feel hopeless and so many that feel discarded. We pray for these souls tonight. We ask God to send them comfort and hope.

No living being should ever feel forgotten. All life is sacred. All living beings are meant to feel loved and appreciated. This is what God wants for everyone. All living beings are equal in the eyes of God. God sees no color. He sees no race and no physical traits. God sees only the heart and the soul. Always remember that.

Always remain on the side of what is just and fair for all even if its not the beliefs that you’ve been raised with and even if its not something you would choose for yourself. Look at all living things with an open heart and an open mind and treat them as you would want to be treated. We are all in this together. We must work together to create a kinder world.

Prayers were requested by our dear friend Linda Robinson for her friends, Lucy and Richard and their beloved cat, Clark. Clark is 14 yrs old and they have just found out that he has advanced stage renal disease. They were told that their little boy has only a few days left to live. Lucy and Richard have had Clark and his brother Lewis since they were only six weeks old. They adore Clark with all of their hearts, and they are heartbroken at the thought of having to let him go. We understand their pain and our hearts go out to them.

God bless Clark and comfort him, as he passes across the rainbow bridge and into heaven. God send healing for the hearts of the ones who love him the most, his family. May they always know that even death cannot separate those who truly love each other. They will always be family and Clark will never be far from them until they meet again in a world so filled with light, a world too beautiful to even describe.

We are so blessed to be able to share this planet with God’s most precious creatures, the animals. We are so lucky to have this chance to know the love of these precious beings. Let us treat them the way that they deserve to be treated with love, gentleness and compassion. Let us teach others to treasure these angels by our own example. This is what was meant for them. After all, an angel deserves no less.

There is so much we can do to help these innocent angels. Small sacrifices in our own diet and wardrobe can mean the difference between life or death for so many millions of animals. In today’s grocery stores, there are so many delicious alternatives to eating meat. Even if we start gradually, we are making a difference and saving lives.
Let us do our very best to save as many lives as we can, together.

We must be a voice for the voiceless. We must be soldiers for the defenseless.

No lives will go in vain. No pain will go unnoticed. Amen. Goodnight friends.

Just a few pals hanging around July 26, 2013

Good morning everyone. Just a few pals hanging around. This picture makes me think of the lyrics when Michael Jackson & friends sang in 1985, ♫♫♫ We are the world, we are the children, We are the ones who make a brighter day, So lets start giving ♫♫♫Dr. Harp Seal tip for today. If you had a tough day yesterday, it doesn’t mean you will have one today. Hit the reset button, dust yourself off, and make a new start of it. If you had a good day yesterday, be grateful and hope for another one today, that would be called a “ Happy Streak “Happy Friday. [/pullquote]

Prayers for Venus and Toby Tom July 25, 2013

182912_656924511004415_1232079410_nGoodnight precious friends and family. It is truly is an honor to pray with you every night. It’s a very rare thing to have so many gentle and kind people coming together each night to pray for others.

Animal lovers are the most compassionate people. I believe with all of my heart that all of us banded together in prayer each night can make an impact on this world for the better. The energy of so much love coming from so many souls is a very powerful thing. Let us do our best to send our hearts out to those that need it the most. There are so many people and so many animals that feel alone and hopeless. Let us always remember them in our prayers.

We begin our prayers tonight for our friend Venus and her little Pomeranian, Toby Tom. We mentioned them in our prayer last night. This morning, our dear Venus, got a call from the veterinarian letting her know that Toby had passed away. This was Venus’s biggest fear. As we mentioned last night, Venus had only just lost her beloved Milo.

We send our strongest healing thoughts to Venus at this very painful time. We know that her little Toby Tom has now been reunited in heaven with his brother Milo. Both are angels now but both Toby and Milo, will always be Venus’s babies. We know that Toby Tom has no more pain. God bless you little Boy. God, please heal Venus’s heart. This is too much for her to bear. God, please let Venus feel the presence of her two boys all around her. She needs comfort and we pray for that for her tonight.

More prayers are going out tonight for our friend Pamela Bolin Marsiliusen and her fiance, John. Yesterday, John and Pamela had to make the very selfless decision to help their 13 year old Weimeraner, Rocky, cross over the rainbow bridge and into heaven. Rocky was suffering with cancer and in the past month, his health had drastically deteriorated. Rocky was deeply loved and will be missed forever.

Rocky was always very playful and very active. He was incredibly loyal and devoted . His loved ones are broken hearted without him. God Bless little Rocky and comfort his family. We pray for healing for John and Pamela. We send them healing.

Prayers going out once again for our friend Maryann and her “AJ”. AJ had a food tube placed inside of her today. She needed this tube in order for her to live and continue to thrive. AJ’s vets are confident that she will feel much better following this procedure, and that Maryann will have to worry a lot less about wether AJ is eating enough to compensate for her bad kidneys.

AJ went into the hospital the night before last. She was lethargic and nauseous when she went in but once they gave her IV fluids, she was barking and jumping again. This is when Maryann realized that AJ needed the right amount of fluids and nutrition, to make her feel like herself again. Maryann is a very loving Mother to her four legged babies. We send prayers for Maryann and AJ tonight. May God continue to heal AJ and restore her to her optimal health. We send them our love.

Once again we remind everyone, that small changes in our lifestyles, can make the world of difference to so many innocent animals. Slight changes in our diets and wardrobe, will mean the difference between life and death for millions of these precious souls. Let us do what we can to save as many lives as possible.

No lives will go in vain. No pain will go unnoticed. Amen.

Throwback Thursday- The Brooklyn Bridge July 25, 2013

1011366_656635951033271_1366954889_n[pullquote align=”left|center|right” textalign=”left|center|right” width=”30%”] Good morning. As I mentioned (I think now 425 times), I have written hundreds of articles on NYC. While NYC will always be special to us, Everybody Loves Sammy is about animals & people from all over the world now. Nonetheless for THROWBACK THURSDAY, here is a little fun NYC tidbit.

The Brooklyn Bridge is one on biggest attractions in all of NY. Crossing over the East River, it connects Manhattan and Brooklyn. It was constructed during the period of 1869 – 1883. It’s around 1.13 miles long, or about 6000 feet. At the time it was built, the two masonry towers standing 275 feet tall, were among the tallest landmarks in all of New York. Whether you live in NY or you are visiting, it’s got something for everyone. People can bike, walk, jog and drive across the bridge. The views of the downtown Manhattan Skyline are breathtaking. Nearby is the Brooklyn Bridge Park, DUMBO & Lower Manhattan. In 1964, The Bridge had been deemed a National Monument.
Located :Manhattan entrance is near City Hall at Centre Street or Tillary and Adams Street in Brooklyn. [/pullquote]

Prayers for Venus and Toby Tom July 24, 2013

993955_656326457730887_58095798_nGoodnight friends and family. We are half way to our weekend and the weather is cooling off a bit. It’s still hot out there though, especially for our four legged companions. Be careful. Always keep in mind that they are wearing “fur coats,” at all times. Keep them hydrated and keep them cool.

I’ve been in NY now for a while. The kids and I started out in a hotel in NYC and we are now pretty far out on Long Island at another hotel. We’ve been looking for a place to call home but it hasn’t been as easy as I thought. It’s been hard living in such a small space with the kids and not having our belongings or a place to plant roots.

It’s physically and emotionally taxing on my own with the kids, especially now that we are living out of suitcases. I have to say though that in the time that we’ve been here, I have seen and encountered random acts of kindness toward myself and my children, even from some people that we’ve never even met before. It’s always comforting to know that there is still kindness in this world. Most people can see a person struggling and just pass them by without even a second thought. It’s easy to become cynical when you experience the latter. This is why acts of kindness mean so much.

It is at the hardest times in your life that you find out who really cares about you in this world. Those that open their arms to you when you have nothing to offer in return are the people who are worth keeping in your life when you do have something to offer in return.

No matter what the behavior of those around you always remain true to what you know is right. Never let the behavior of others change your behavior. You cannot be responsible for the choices and the actions of another. You can only be responsible for yourself. Always do the right thing no matter what. Always act with compassion and gentleness of heart. You can never know how much that kindness means to another in need.

Prayers are going out tonight for one of our dearest friends, Venus and her little Pomeranian, Toby Tom. Venus only recently lost her little Pom, Milo. She has been suffering a great deal without him and has been nursing a very badly broken heart. Venus adored Milo, and she feels the same way about her Toby Tom. Just recently, Toby stopped eating and is sleeping a lot. Naturally Venus is extremely concerned and took Toby to the Veterinary hospital today for a full check up. The Vet told Venus that Toby is in Renal failure and has to stay overnight to have IV fluids etc. They told her that her Toby may not make it.

Venus feels destroyed tonight . It took all of her strength, just to walk out of the office without her Toby, but she knows that this is what must be done, to try and save her little boy. Tonight Little Toby needs our strongest prayers. Please heal this little angel, Dear God. Please bring Toby and Venus a miracle and restore Toby to his optimal health. Dear God comfort Venus, as she has suffered too much already. These dogs are her children, and she just lost one of them, only very recently. Please spare Toby and let him live and come home to Venus again. Dear God, please send loving energy and healing to our very special friends.

Please remember friends that small changes in our own lifestyles can save the lives of millions of innocent animals. Small sacrifices in our diet and our wardrobe can mean the difference of life or death to so many angels. Lets do our best to save as many animals as we can.

No lives will go in vain. No pain will go unnoticed. Amen.
