Prayers for Xan July 8, 2013

1014132_647330558630477_615280980_nGoodnight everyone. We hope your Monday was a good one. It’s hard to get back into your routine after a holiday weekend. Keep your head up because each day brings more opportunities to be a positive influence on this world, and the people around you.

I want to take this chance to discuss an issue which I feel is a very important one. Dogs are the most devoted and loving companions that you can have. Dogs offer an unconditional love that is rare to be found anywhere else. They are a gift to be treasured. They are meant to be treated as family. They are NOT meant to live outdoors with no interaction with people. They are not born just to guard your home.

When dogs are treated as “accessories” and left to live in a dog house, dog run or just tied to a tree, I consider this abuse. Without love, these dogs are being starved of the life that they truly deserve. I just find this totally appalling. I’ve seen and know of dogs, that are being kept outside or in garages in the heat and in the freezing cold. This is just reprehensible. A dog is not a piece of furniture or a decoration for a back yard. This type of animal owner, is just cruel and heartless and they shouldn’t be allowed to have animals at all. Animals are family. Anyone that sees this any other way should NOT own a dog.

I know a “woman”, and I use that term lightly, who bought two pure bred Rottweilers. These poor dogs are never in the house. They are left in the garage or they are left outdoors. Because of the neglect of these two dogs, one of the dogs has now become highly aggressive and has already maimed one of the woman’s neighbors.

The neighbor, who has met the dogs before, walked over to the house, and entered through the opened garage. Of course, the two dogs were in there, because that’s the only place that they are allowed, other than the back yard. The neighbor, knowing the dogs, approached one of the dogs to pet it and the dog attacked the neighbor, severely injuring the neighbors mouth.

The dog owner took zero responsibly for the attack, and turned against her neighbor, saying that it was the neighbors fault for being on her property. She did not help that neighbor in any way, at all, which is not surprising, knowing this “woman”.

This same woman has young children. By neglecting these dogs and not loving and interacting with them, the way that they deserved, she has indirectly produced aggression in these dogs, who could have had a chance at a normal life, if not for being bought by her. Now she has the product of her neglect, living around her children. If people ask her if she has dogs, she professes proudly “Yes, two Rottweilers”. She never thinks for a second about the dogs themselves, only how they are a reflection of herself.

I see this a lot. I see this in all areas. It needs to stop. If you see a dog. Being left in the cold or the heat and never see the dog going indoors, please report it. This is neglect and it is abuse as well. These neglected dogs need our voices. They are defenseless and cannot speak up for themselves. It is our job to do what we can to help them.

We have a special request for a little six year old boy named Xan. Xan is suffering from a very rare neurodegenerative disease, that is taking over his body and now has begun to take over his mind. Xan has a wish to get 1 million fans on FB. Lets help him see his wish come true. This little boy is an inspiration and a true example of bravery. Here are some of his own word which we found on his FB page.

Xan- “Well, I have a purpose and it is to help others… You see, sometimes I’m really scared and I just keep being brave… So, if I keep being brave even when I’m scared, then I’ll show people how to do it, too… Then, all the people I show everyday will want to be my fan!!”

You can show your love to this little angel by visiting and liking ” Xan’s Fans” on FB. You can also become A “Xan Fan” by sending your name and address to:
Jennifer Moses/XAN FAN

This little boy is in need of our strongest prayers of healing. He is in a fight for his life at too young of an age. Dear God place your heavenly hands on this precious boy. God please heal him and restore him to perfect health. He needs and deserves a miracle.

God bless you Xan. We are definitely big fans of yours.

We are asking for Prayers tonight, for our Mother Joann , who fell yesterday on the street, and broke her ankle in three places. She is in an incredible amount of pain and was taken by ambulance to a hospital on Long Island. Tomorrow, doctors will perform surgery on her ankle. Dear God watch over our Mother. Carry her through the surgery in your loving arms and please take away her pain. We love you Mom.

No lives will go in vain. No pain will go unnoticed. Amen.

Prayers for Jonathan Lee lelpi July 6, 2013

1011873_646241492072717_514346894_nGoodnight everybody. We hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend and that everyone enjoyed their Fourth of July celebrations.

You know, Scott and I grew up in a town called Great Neck. Great Neck is about 35 minutes from NYC. On September 11th 2001, Six Great Neck peninsula residents died during the attack on the World Trade Center.

One of them was our hero, Jonathan Lee Ielpi. Jonathan was a volunteer firefighter with two young sons. His youngest was only 3yrs old at the time . He was only 29yrs old on 9-11-01 and began volunteering at the FD when he was only 17. He grew up seeing his own father save countless people and from the time he was only a toddler, Jonathan wanted to follow in his fathers footsteps. He always wanted to help others, even at such a young age. He is remembered with love by every single person who knew him.

He was from an extremely close knit family. His Mother Anne, his father Lee, his three siblings, Brendan, Melissa and Anne Marie, their children, and his own wife and two sons, lost a piece of their hearts on that horrible day. They’ve been missing him and honoring his memory ever since.

His Father Lee was also a life long firefighter but was retired at that time. He was, and still is, known as a “Legend” . On the day of the attack and the days following, Lee Ielpi got his tools, packed up his car and drove to Ground Zero. He dug through the hot rubble with his own hands, determined to find his son, as well as anyone else missing there. It is no wonder that his son has the heart of a hero.

To me, Jonathan’s father, Lee, is also a hero. Today he suffers from the World Trade Center disease, that affected and took the lives of so many first responders, in the days, weeks and months following the worst terrorist attack in our nations history. God bless him and God bless Jonathan Ielpi.

Our hometown also lost others, our friend Andrew Stergiopoulos, Peter Frank, Frederick Kuo, Jr., Joshua Vitale and Richard Yun Choon Lee. Great Neck has memorials just for them. We will never forget.

Jonathan Ielpi’s Father, Lee Ielpi, founded the September 11th Families’ Association and co-founded the Tribute WTC Visitor Center. He did so, in loving memory of his beloved son and so many others that lost their lives that day.

In Great Neck we have another hero. Ben Harrow was a friend of Jonathan Ielpi and when Jonathan was lost on that day, Ben joined the Military in honor of him and went to war for our country. He was critically wounded during his time at war and lost both of his legs. What a courageous and beautiful thing he did in honor of his dear friend. Ben now joins other critically wounded service men, who are in need of handicap accessible homes. So many men and woman fought for us and now it is our turn to help them. They need and deserve to live in a way that’s easiest and most comfortable for them, after their injuries. Here is the link to some more information regarding Ben and other heroes like him.

About a week ago, Bravo TV aired an episode of their show “Princesses: Long Island”. In a scene that was filmed at The Jonathan Ielpi Memorial Park, in Great Neck Plaza, one of the “Princesses” was doing a photo shoot to promote her product, and proceeded to totally disrespect a FDNY memorial 9/11 statue of Jonathan. It was totally disgusting.

“The scene shows Amanda Bertoncini doing a photo shoot for her product (a piece of fabric that wraps around any sort of drink can or bottle) at the FDNY memorial, where one of the models is hanging on the bronze statue of firefighter Jonathan Ielpi. You can hear the photographer tell the model, “Kiss the fireman, try to feed him the beer.” Then Bertoncini exclaims, “Yeah, feed him the beer! Then act scared.”

We find this behavior totally unacceptable and completely reprehensible. We feel very strongly that this show be pulled off of the network for good. Not only does the entire Ielpi family deserve an apology, but this show needs to cease to exist.

Jonathan Ielpi’s Sisters, Melissa and Anne Marie, hit the ground running. They were understandably outraged. What a total disgrace for the producers, directors, creators and Amanda Bertoncini herself, to behave this way, allow this behavior and or even air this garbage. And in such a sacred place , and to the memorial of our hero, Jonathan and all who perished that day. This is completely inexcusable.

We have already done our part, on behalf of Jonathan and his family, to put an end to this show immediately.

Please help us show our support of the whole Ielpi family, by telling those that took any part in this despicable act, that its not okay. It’s not acceptable at all. This show needs to be taken off the air.

Here is a list of contacts. Please feel free to call and e-mail the people below to relay your feelings on this matter.

On FB you can find out more about Jonathan Ielpi, American hero, at “Remembering Jonathan Ielpi”.

To follow the status of the fight to stop this show, Melissa Ielpi has created a FB page “Shame on Bravo – Cancel Long Island Princesses”.

We are all in this together. We are all equal in the eyes of God. Let us stand together with the Ielpi family in honor of Jonathan and the sacrifice he made for us.

Prayers for Leon Rosby July 5, 2013

1001340_645621442134722_1267883958_nHello everybody, wrapping it up early tonight, as this is one of the most important messages this page has ever posted.

Friends, part of these nightly prayers are also messages of awareness. Tonight, a very serious real story took place last week that needs to be shared. I want to say I have met several police officers through the Rebuild of the Sammy Community that was taken from my family and I last year. They were animal loving people just like us. But some of these trigger happy police, who probably see very little action in their pathetic existence, just feel the need to shoot dogs.

I am sure some of you heard last week in Hawthorne California, Leon Rosby, 52 years old was arrested and his dog shot 4 times to death. Let me tell you Leon’s crime. His crime was nothing. He was walking on the other side of the street, about half a block from a crime scene where many police cars were there, looked pretty under control to me. Leon decided to video tape it on his i-phone or whatever, you know like, a billion other people or so what have done. The police decide to arrest him for disturbing a crime scene with his killer smart phone, what a joke. Then Leon’s dog got so riled up watching them drag him away that he started coming to them barking as any dog would. One of the 3 police officers shot him four times. The dog was screaming in pain while dying.

My friends please take a quick journey with me. We all remember Les Misérables (musical). In the musical a police officer spent his entire life tracking down a man who, during his childhood, stole a loaf of bread for his dying sibling. After decades the policeman realized he was chasing a good man and wasted his whole life on a false pretense.

Do you see where I am going with this. I am not suggesting that the murdering police officer kill himself, although it would make me smile. I am suggesting that the murdering police officer should spend his life making Leon Rosby’s life the best it can be. And you know what; I am including the other 2 officers in the quest for Leon’s happiness as well. I am on my knees begging to God to have all three of them fired with no benefits other then making Leon’s life better.

The same prayers going out to dog that was murdered by a police officer from Sept 2010 at the Adams Morgan Festival in Washington D.C., Not sure whatever happened to this thug police officer, but if he still employed, shame on that precinct. We pray for the dog to rest in peace. And i personally wish on this cop the same i wish on the 3 cops from last weeks incident in Hawthorne California.

Let’s please finish by praying for this beautiful Pit Bull that was found tied to a fence and duck taped around his mouth. Right now the dog is in the best hands he can be with the Humane Society our of Louisville Kentucky. I supplied link for this incident.

http://www.dogheirs.com/tamara/posts/3605-abused-pit-bull-found-duct-taped-and-tied-to-fence-rescued-authorities-ask-for-help

Once again my offer still stands with this kind of thing. If anyone knows any of these police officers personally, please let them know I am interesting in organizing a legal boxing match consented by us both, lawyers and everything. I will raise 10k from my friends, if they win, they keep the money, If i win, I did it for the animals they MURDERED. If They lose, they will lose no money.

Amen. Love Sammy & Family.

Throwback Thursday- Sammy at the 11th Annual Halloween Pet Costume ball July 5, 2013

Good morning. As I mentioned (I think now 94 times), I have written hundreds of articles on NYC. While NYC will always be special to us, Everybody Loves Sammy is about animals & people from the entire world now. Nonetheless for THROWBACK THURSDAY, here is a little fun NYC tidbit. Being yesterday was 4th of July, we pushed Throwback Thursday to Friday.). TGIFThis was Sammy at the 11th Annual Halloween Pet Costume hosted by Animal fair to help support the New York Humane Society. He dressed up as Prince Charming as you see. The event was held at the Copacabana on 268 west 47th street. This event took place on October 26th, 2011. This was some night out on the town for all these fur babies.

Happy 4th of July July 4, 2013

Remember your pets hear fireworks a lot louder then we do and they don’t know what it is. It’s a great day to be alive. Its also a day to pay close attention to our pets and make sure they are doing okay.

Happy Thursday. [/pullquote]

Happy birthday to our mother, Jo Ann Santoro Smith July 3, 2013

1004619_644371845593015_1762005073_nGoodnight friends. Tomorrow the celebrations will begin. A lot of people will be outdoors tomorrow and tomorrow night. Families and friends will be gathering together all over the country, celebrating, barbecuing and watching the incredible firework displays.

Never forget that all of these celebrations, symbolize freedom for our country. Never forget all of the heroes who fought and died for the freedom that we enjoy today. They are the reason that we are able to celebrate. We send gratitude and thanks to them and their families, always. So tomorrow night, when the sky is lit up, remember those that made the ultimate sacrifice. It is all because of them, all of it.

Again dear ones, please keep yourselves and your pets safe. Keep your pets away from the fireworks. The sounds can be very scary for them and if you have them out with you, they may run, even if they don’t normally do that.

Happy Birthday to our Mother, Jo Ann Santoro Smith. Truthfully and unbiasedly, one of the most beautiful women to ever walk the earth. She always has been and she still is. I know our Father would be sending her an endless sea of roses, if he were still here. Our Mother has endured a lot and she has always been a fighter. When she lost my Father, she didn’t just lose him, she lost a life, she lost people she thought were her friends and her family. It was more than a learning experience for her and it has made her a lot stronger. My Mother raised us alone, after 1984, and she fought for us every step of the way. We love you Mom and so does Daddy.

Tonight we send out prayers for our dear friend Debbie Broussard Kennedy. We pray that God sends all of his love and healing to our precious friend in her time of need. We love you Debbie. You’re a very important part of our “Everybody Loves Sammy community”. God bless Debbie and keep her safe and well.

Special prayers going out for our dear friends, Mary Elizabeth Gerald Drew and her precious Pomeranian, “Buttons”. Buttons crossed over the rainbow bridge just two weeks ago and is now flying high with a new set of angel wings. She was 12 yrs old and she was Mary’s baby. God please comfort Mary at this very painful time. No matter what the age of your little one, she will always be your baby and she will never be far from you, Mary. Sending you all of our love tonight and always.

More prayers going out tonight, requested by our friend Lisa Broderick. A child was attacked by two pit bulls in her home town, and authorities had to put both dogs down. This poor child needs our strongest prayers. Dear God please heal this baby. No child should ever have to endure the suffering that this child is enduring. Please send a miracle for this child. Please let this child not have another minute of pain. In the name of the innocence and helplessness of children, please heal this baby.

And for all of the animals, domestic and wild, we pray for a kinder, more compassionate world. We pray for a world where animals are free from harm and each and every one, knows only love and gentleness. After all, angels deserve no less.

No lives will go in vain. No pain will go unnoticed. Amen. Goodnight everyone.
