Easter Parade in NYC 2016

Easter Parade in NYC, 2016

Good morning friends.

Today we take back to NYC for their Easter Parade and Easter Bonnet festival. The festivities take place on Fifth Avenue from 49th to 57th Street. It stars at 10am and run until around 4pm.

The Easter Parade is a lot less organized than other parades in New York City. People just wander the streets observing all the Easter Bonnets and outfits. News Yorkers take their bonnets pretty seriously.

The Parade has been a tradition in NYC for over 100 years, dated all the way back to the 1880’s. Its a NYC staple.

If you would like to attend Mass, here is the schedule for St. Patricks Cathedral on Fifth Avenue and 49th street; 10:15 a.m; 12 Noon, 1:00, 4:00, and 5:30 p.m.  So of the masses do require tickets, so just a little heads up there.

Easter is the day we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

See you tonight friends.  Enjoy this Easter Sunday.

Poppy Rocky Tuesday on March 22nd, 2016

Poppy Rocky Tuesday on March 22nd, 2016

Good morning friends.

Happy Poppy Rocky Tuesday. A day filled with Hope and Possibilities. Remember, if the Pops and Rocky can make it, anyone can.

Hope and faith can go a long way in this life. When your head is hung low, think of their story to give you a boost. The odds of Poppy and Rocky both having a great life, were next to zero. But those odds pulled through.

Anything can happen on any given day. Let’s stay hopeful, faithful and focused. Miracles are taking place everyday. Everyone is eligible to be graced with a a miracle.

St. Patrick’s Day 2016

St. Patrick's Day 2016

Good morning friends.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day. This morning we take it back to NYC where will be about 2 million people participating in the parade. Last I checked, that’s a lot of people.

The parade begins on 5th at 44th Street. It ends on 5th Avenue at 79th Street at around 4:30 p.m.

St Patrick’s Day is celebrated annually on March 17th. In 2016. The day honors the patron saint of Ireland, but celebrations are held around the world.  It is believed that St. Patrick died in the year 461 A.D. on March 17th.

Green is the color of St. Patrick’s day as a result of green ribbons and shamrocks are said to have been worn as early as the 17th century.

Ok, that was just a couple of tidbits about this parade. While St. Patrick’s tradition is centuries old, in NYC, it has somehow turned into a day of “Anything goes” — Take a day off, take a half day, call in sick tomorrow, but get that green beer today. While its a Parade of pride to millions, its a day to blow off steam and drink your head off for many too. Hey, who can judge ?

Happy Festivus. See you tonight. Scott Smith for Sammy & Family.

Poppy Rocky Tuesday on March 8th, 2016

Poppy Tuesday on March 8th, 2016

Good morning friends.

Happy Poppy Rocky Tuesday. A day filled with Hope and Possibilities. Let’s try to remember if Poppy and Rocky can make it, anyone can.

Its great to be alive March 8th, 2016. Today is a gift, it did Not have to be that way. Thank God that it is.

OK, let’s kick this day off with two Positive notions.

1. “Imagination is without boundaries. It cannot be contained.”  — Dr. Harp Seal —

2. “The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good Anyway.”  — Mother Teresa —

Day 421 here in Puerto Rico and day 111 since we rescued Rocky. Life is good. We do the best we can with what we have. See you tonight friends. Dr. Harp Seal for Sammy & Family.

Monday is Looking up

Dr. Harp Seal on Monday March 7th, 2016

Good morning friends. Dr. Harp Seal here.

Let’s turn Monday into an acronym so it’s not so scary.  Here we go; “Magical Opportunities Nourish Diligently, abundantly and Yearningly”  — It’s hard not to smile when you hear the word “Magical” right?

Magic reminds me of the word “Imagination.

Albert Einstein said; “Logic will take you from point A, to point B. Imagination will take you everywhere”

I love that. Imagination has more science in it than we think.  When we are imagining, we are creating thoughts. And we know that we are what we think.

So let’s imagine a great Monday and ramp up the odds of actually having a great day.  After all, we are what we think just as much as we are what we eat.

Day 420 here in Puerto Rico. See you tonight friends, Dr. Harp Seal for Sammy & Family.

Round two with Rocky

Round two with Rocky in a bone fight

Good morning friends.

Round two here with Rocky.  A few months back we had our original bone right and he beat my pretty bad. That all changed yesterday. As you can see I am in complete control of this bone match.

Letting all Pit Bulls know, never pick a bone with this man from NYC.  All fun bone fights aside, we love Pit Bulls, love them.

The Loeb Boathouse in Central Park

The Loeb Boathouse, Central Park, NYC

Good morning friends.

This is me and my boy at The Loeb Boathouse restaurant in Central Park.  Many of you have probably dined here or even rented row boats right outside the restaurant. Is the same body of water when you are at the “Bethesda Fountain.”

Thanks to philanthropist Carl M. Loeb and his wife Adeline who donated $305,000 to construct the restaurant  which then officially opened in 1954.

Its considered a very romantic spot for couples to have dinner and enjoy nature at the same time. Loeb’s Boathouse is an historic landmark in Central Park, NYC.

Happy Poppy Rocky Tuesday on March 1st, 2016

Happy Poppy Rocky Tuesday on March 1st, 2016

Good morning friends.

Happy Poppy Rocky Tuesday. A day filled with Hope and Possibilities. Remember if the Pops and Rocky can make it, anyone can.

Its great to be here with everyone on March 1st, 2016. Another gift we are offered today. Good, bad or indifferent, the mere existence of this day is a gift. Let’s get give today a chance. Maybe it will be the best day of our lives, it certainly has a shot to be.

Challenges are nothing more than opportunities to reach higher grounds. Let’s not run from challenges, let’s embrace them and march through them.  Doesn’t that have a better ring to it than saying, “I can’t take it anymore” — Try to imagine how you feel when you cross the finish the line of a particular challenge.  Can you see how good that will feel ?  Lets use that momentum to propel us through this so called; “Obstacle”

See you tonight friends. Day 416 here in Puerto Rico and day 104 since we rescued.  Life is good. And if your life is Not good right now, don’t worry because that’s going to pass, maybe starting immediately.
