Good evening dear friends and family.
We hope you all arrived home safely for the evening, and that you are home with the ones you love most. Coming home after a long day is a wonderful feeling.
We pray for all of those that don’t know the feeling of coming home, because for whatever reason or circumstance , they have no home. Those who are struggling and living in the streets, without a place to call their own. There are so many homeless all over the world. Many know too well, the unbearable pain of hunger, of freezing, and living at the mercy of Mother Nature, with no shelter at all. Not knowing what the next day or night will bring. Just trying to stay alive and stay safe. It is unimaginable what these people suffer. They are people who at one time in their lives would have never imagined that they would be where they are. Now they struggle to find hope with every passing day.
We see homeless men, women and children, even as we pass by them , hurrying to our appointments and keeping up with our daily routines. Some are asking for help. Many look beaten and tired. We must always remember that each one of them has their story. Each one of these souls count as much as we do.
When we pass by them, let us not just pass without notice. Let us say to ourselves “There but for the grace of God, Go I.” — Let’s pray for them, so that they are not so alone. Let’s Help in any way that we can, when we can. Help can come in so many forms, a hot meal, a kind word, a smile. It is easy to see how many homeless people can feel invisible to the rest of the world, how they can feel forgotten. Let’s be sure not to forget them.
We all also know how many homeless animals roam the streets that we live in. So many animals that have never known the gentle touch of the human hand. These are lost angels that have so much love to give, but can’t seem to find their way off of the streets. Let us all show these animals any love that we can. If you can leave water or food for them, it would be such a gift to animals that need that so much. I know many of you already do that. It’s a beautiful act of kindness and mercy, for these beings who have no voice at all.
Goodnight everyone. Sweet dreams to all.
No lives will go in pain. No pain will go unnoticed. Amen.
Love from,
Jessica Lee Smith,
