In Loving Memory of Beatrice, Susanne Day’s Mother on Mother’s Day

In loving Memory of Susanne Day's Mother on Mother's day
Good evening friends.
Tonight we pay tribute to Beatrice Day, Susanne Day’s mother.  I could not have said it any better then Susanne.  So lets here about Beatrice from Susanne Day directly.
“Beatrice my mom was an amazing woman. She raised me alone. My dad and my mom separated when I was young. She was a constant inspiration to me and to so many others. As a child she would never fail to stop when seeing someone hungry or poor.
My mother would buy food, purchase medications and/or give them money to help them. In my youth she was diagnosed with Breast cancer. Beatrice was very religious and believed that God would cure her. The nuns from my church and school prayed for her and gave her a special relic of Blessed Elizabeth Ann Seton to apply to her breast and pray. Elizabeth Ann Seton was up for canonization awaiting proof of her miracles.
My mom’s faith was just so powerful. Anyway shortly thereafter the cancerous lump disappeared and her doctors wrote it up as a miracle for the Catholic Church. When she was canonized as a Saint my mother flew me to Rome for the canonization. Mom unfortunately died in December 1999….the Millennium. We had a,terrible time having her buried as it was Y2K. The first date we could bury her was January 4 2000 which turned out to be the feast date of the Saint that cured her. I was blessed to have her as my mother. Blessed to be her child.”
Beautifully written and expressed Susanne.  Sammy & Family is blessed to have you as a friend and to share such a heartfelt story.
Amen.  Scott Smith for Sammy & Family.
