424496_136551066509220_1011845204_nThis is Alfred.I have mentioned him a couple of times in the past. He is the boxer who took in Darlene and made her his assistant. He went into a crazed state of madness as a young teen. In this state he became “bored” and tried to do things that would keep him busy. Destructive things, might I add. First he would start stealing items just to break them. He would want to see how long or quickly it would take to break a certain item. However, this became boring and he went onto the next thing in which he would collect dead bodies and dissect them for debated reasons. Certain dogs think he did that just to get a good idea of a dog’s body so that when he started kidnapping living dogs, he would know where to cut or inject something..Others thiought he wasn’t smart enough to premeditate in such a way  and just did it  because he knew he could and it would keep him busy. For Alfred however, it was a little bit from column “A” and column “B.” He then came to the final conclusion that he would kidnap living dogs and do individual experiments on all of them just to see how they would react to their stimuli. He also wanted to see what they would gradually turn into because of said stimuli. He would write down the results of these experiments and call it his “research.” He found kidnapping puppies to be better for this. Dogs who speculate the crazed boxer’s case believe that he was a sadist. However, Alfred seems to clearly state to Darlene that, “he takes no enjoyment out of what he does; he simply takes interest in it.”.Alfred seems have been a moderate narcissist as he appeared to believe that he could never get caught. He was right for the most part because he was careful. However, he became careless in the end. When Alfred found Darlene, he was going to make her a test subject as well but he believed that he needed an assistant. He also wanted someone to continue his research when he got too old. Darlene became his assistant and because she was young, she didn’t know the harm she was causing the other puppies by contributing.Fortunately though, when Alfred started to make her physically hurt the other puppies for research, she began to have an epiphany as she realized the gravity of the situation. She showed compassion to the test subjects. It is unknown WHY she did as she was an orphan originally. Compassion shouldn’t have been instilled in her because she’d never been shown it before but to Alfreds, surprise, she did. She would try to comfort crying puppies and when in the position of hurting them, she would try to fake it. Alfred quickly caught on and believed she was disturbing the research. If the test subjects were shown compassion, it would ruin the experiment. He wanted to bring up puppies in such an environment where that didn’t exist in order to see what they would turn into. He wanted to see if they were fated to be killers or sociopaths or if they could be something more. He wanted to see which ones were too weak to live and which ones were strong enough to deserve life. He took Darlene and poured a dangerous chemical onto her eyes. He blinded her out of rage but later on this proved to have been a mistake on his part as Darlene couldn’t help him as effectively. Not only this, but Alfred began to feel something he’d never felt before; guilt and remorse. He became more careless as the guilt began to eat him alive. It only took two months after the incident for him to be arrested. Darlene wanted to get even though, so she smuggled a knife into his jail cell and gouged his eyes out, despite his cries for forgiveness. Darlene then went into a catatonic state and was taken away to Wasteworth Insane Asylum. Darlene mentions to Tommy a couple of times that she KNEW he was really sorry and that she could tell when somebody is genuine. Whenever Tommy asks her why she didn’t just leave it at that, she states “How could she?”.Darlene says that being blinded was the worst thing that happened to her as she could never enjoy what every other dog could enjoy. She could never see the faces of her friends again, vibrant colors could never fill her vision again. She states that she wanted to get even with Alfred but overdid it a little, which caused his death. However, she sticks by the fact that she holds no grudge against him in his grave and that if he was still alive, she wouldn’t want any “revenge”. “As long as he is as blind as I am now, I wouldn’t mind.We would be even.” She says.Vlad also states to her that BECAUSE she gouged his eyes out, that she DID have a grudge against him.She always responds with “I had no grudge against him.I only had a grudge against what he did.” Alfred is the only dog that Darlene killed.Alfred was also the only dog that Darlene felt no remorse about harming.Darlene also justifies this by stating that because of what he did to her, she was simply unable to feel remorse for him. ©

Alfred will only be making appearances in flashbacks, if at all.I am going to be uploading briefly mentioned characters now. They had a significant effect on the characters but aren’t particularly main in the series of Young Blood.
